Searching for 3dckpit.dat files for triple monitors
-
Hello everybody,
Has someone modified all the flyable aircrafts’ 3dckpit.dat so that users of triple-monitor setups can see pass the 70-degree limit, thus enabling a full view of the side panels?
If so, can all be posted or linked so that we ccould use the 3D pit to its full extent? I’m looking forward to this.
Or, if Devs would be kind, maybe have this modified for the next patch/update!
Thanks !

Suggest you dig into the manual and the config files. Set MAX FOV to 140 and default FOV to 140. What you need is all there and ready for you. Use the combined power of the computer and the human brain, and, you’ll get that fixed in no time…

Look for this line and set to a different value. Mine is set at 90. You’ll have to do this for all Vipers though.
viewlimit_pitch_down 70.0;

search FOV in BMS config set to about 110

Heya,
Combined !!
1……\FalconBMS\user\config\falcon bms.cfg
set g_fDefaultFOV and set it to set g_fDefaultFOV 126
set g_fMaximumFOV 126 (150) // Limits the maximum amount that the FOV can be increased2. Open all the .dat files of the 3d pit planes you fly and increase the viewlimit_pitch_down value
….\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Art\ckptart
viewlimit_pitch_down 83.0
3.Now those are the day pit’s there are and the night pits… They are located under the folder:
….\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Art\ckptartnHud Only Tool
HUD ONLY >> PITCH 3 > FOV 126 > TINT OFFThat works for me fine, triple 3*24 , 5760 * 1200
Test what is for your triple is best! (FOV)
HUD only works for all 3d pit!

Thanks everyone; I’ll start working on those settings and will post my .dat files so everyone can profit.
For those who want to down the triple monitor track, FOVs are not the solution. it is for single monitor users. Airwolf and Ice have the fix.

@^AirWolf:
Now those are the day pit’s there are and the night pits… They are located under the folder:
….\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Art\ckptartnBMS 4.33 doesn’t use ckptartn. In fact I thought it had been removed.

don’t have to change all the .dat files, just this in BMS Config…
set g_fViewlimitPitchDown 90.0 (default 70) // Overrides all A/C viewlimit_pitch_down values from the 3dckpit.dat files, max. 90.0, only higher values take effect

Thanks, that was what I needed! Haven’t tried playing in a while due to spiking in my Cougar but I finally got around to changing from pots to hall sensors. Now I’m ready to learn this game all over again!
