Hey,
Creating CET is bringing more and more advantages. Not directly in a flyable/released theater, but more and more useful features in some tools.
This is an example of improving features in MC.Adding a new aircraft to the database has a couple of steps.
First the Vehicle needs to be added and the CT set correctly, including the Specific NR.
Units like Squadron and Flight need to be added as well. For these the icon for this aircraft need to be set as well.
This icon is just a idex nr in the database and the squadron and the flight both need to be set. Which can be set differently. If this is done, an entry in the textIds.id and Unit.irc needs to be created. This is the aircraft name which you see in the game.
Can be any text you like, so also here you have the option for mistakes.
All in all a couple of steps with a lot of possibilities of errors. After this, you will still not be able to see or fly the aircraft in BMS. Enteries in 2 other files are needed.
The TePlanes.lst and the ValidAc.act
Here is an example for a line from the ValidAc.act:
“2 6 3 1 2 255 255 255”
Who can tell which aircraft this is?And an example for the TePlanes.lst
“// F-16CJ-52”
“1 7 3 9 21148 57 10065”At least some comments lines are used in the TePlanes.lst, but still you have to set a couple of numbers.
Even if you know what all these numbers are, it is just a pain to look them up and prone to errors. So here is an example of the improved feature made by a lazy man for a lazy man.
The Buccaneer has been added to the database as a vehicle, squadon and flight (Don’t mind the exact data for this part)
Entry in the textids.id and units.lst has been done as well. Remember the added ID nr as you need this later.Load up a mission and you will see the TePlanes list. The feature will show you if the entity is not found in the database and also if icons are not set the same throughout the database.
The new column “Found in DB” is the actual aircraft(Vehicle) found in the database. You can compare this with the rest of the data. This way you can see if you are pointing to the correct aircraft.
You can move items up and down to sort the list as you like. Also deleting items can be done quickly, you managing this file is easy now.
Adding the Buccaneer by clicking the “Add New” and you are asked to select the aircraft you want to add.By selecting the correct aircraft here, all the data and pointers are set automatically in the next screen.
Check the data if it is as you would like at this stage.
The only thing the user needs to set by hand is the ID nr to the Text.
You can see that the text ID is still set to “1”. You can scroll through the ID numbers until you find the correct one or just insert the nr what you remembered previously.
In this example of the Buccaneer it is “562”.Each of these items need an own ID number. In this screenshot you can see it as “21201”. The tool will give you the first free ID, so no more searching for a free id.
I hope this makes this part of BMS a little bit more clear to those who like to know.

Edit:
I have to add a special thanks to CCC1TW for all his models!
Badly needed for CET and was a major motivation to finish this feature. -

Badly needed for CET and was a major motivation to finish this feature.I’am stuck:
I did everything you wrote, this works in Mission commander:
But I can not change the plain in mission commander.
I see my addon, the Brequet Atlantic in the planes tab, I can add a squdron wit mission commander, but thats it…. it does not work.
Here are my screenshots:I ad the model, the way that it is described in the starter post of this threat.
I did the ad copy routine, but i still find a piece of the an24: is this relevant?: (its becomming an obsession, I know, but i want to add a a couple of ccc models, not just replacing excisting one.)
Is this quote relevant, editing the te list???

Hey Nurse,
The post only explains how to do the editing of the teplanes and validac files with MC.
This will only work if you have correctly added the aircraft to the database.
Just making a copy of the aircraft is not enough!!!
Did you add the CT in the copy process?
Did you also made a copy of the squadron and the flight?
Did you change the specific (CT) for all these 3 entities so they are not the same as any of these types of aircraft? To check the last do the following:
Go to the Classtables and use the filter and select Vehicle and Airplane.
Now sort the list to the “Specifics” and after this sort the “Subtypes”.
Scroll down the list to find your aircraft. Compare the specific numbers and set yours to a number not used.
Do the same for the units Sqaudron and Flight. If this is all done, you need to check the teplane and validac again in MC.

Yeah, forget about the old tools, those who will keep trying to use those will get into more and more problems.

I think i did, i use the method as i ascribed in my first post.
If i compare i find this:
the specific type are both 14, i will look into that.

Specific can should not be the same and I am pretty sure if you change the new CT to a free specific number for that type of aircraft you should be fine.

Hi Falcas. Is it possible in future updates to add the ability to change objectives priorities and or flags -per category- in the Quick Settings menu? Just like it is now for Supply / Fuel.
-
I just wanted to say a public thank you to Falcas for working on his excellent MC, helping me to convert missions from Allied Force to BMS 4.33.U1.
-
At the risk of being told to RTFM I am trying to extract and run MC and WC both of which will not run due to .rar extraction errors, I have downloaded those files about 12 different times from different PC’s and laptops wired and wifi downloads all resulting in the same thing, MC and WC will not run both showing 61 extraction errors. if I try to run the .exe from the zip file I am shown a dialog box saying that these programs are not compatible. Any idea what my situation is? PS I did try to run these in compatibility mode for XP SP2, Vista, and a couple other options with no difference in results.
i7, 3.5gig OC to 4.1, gigabyte Z77-SS3H MOBO, 16gb RAM, Nvidia GTX960 G1 Gamming, 3TB hard drive(storage)128gb ssd (OS), 64gb ssd -
Update winrar or get 7zip.

Arty, thank you, that worked great, but I am confused because the previous version of winrar was working just fine on all .zip, .rar files just not the MC or WC so it never dawned on me to change that.
-
They are all zipped with 7Zip, not so they are not a rar

Hey,
For at least 80% of the users of MC, you really don’t need a manual. The buttons and functions do what is written on it.
With most of the advanced features come a little explanation if the form of a question before you continue.Only when you are building a theater from scratch, it would be handy to have a good background knowledge.
But that means explaining how the BMS database is build up, all the pointers and links in the code.
That manual will be much thicker than the manual which comes with BMSMake a backup of the files you are working on (just in case) and than don’t be afraid to try and play with the features.
So the short version of a manual…
- Start the MC and open the mission you want to edit (File, Open)
- Enjoy editing what you want.
- Save the mission.

change the number at top of Valid AC list to what it says try 214
the newest update changed a little I think it counts the top number as a AC.your valid ac file is in your campaign folder
this started happening to me also after latest upgrade witch is awesome btw

Nope, it does not count the first line as an AC.
The difference is that MC does this check now and reports if there is something wrong.
It reports what is wrong in the message. You can ignore this message completely as it does have effect for a normal user.
Its a feature for theater builders.Or you can solve this by letting MC create a new list.
To do this, check the list on the left and make sure all AC are selected that need to be flyable.
Than create new Validacand save.Gr Falcas
