FPS problem !
-
i have found the problem it is right here
My pc specs are
2gb ddr2 ram
amd radeon hd 4350 1024mb vram
amd athlon 5200+ 2.7gHz dualcore -
No answer for NikloaCC except to upgrade system, but since we are talking about graphic card upgrade, I presently run the following system:
Computer guts
Motherboard, Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
Power supply, Thermaltake 650W
AMD FX Processor, Black Edition 8 core, 3.5 GHz, 16.0MB total cache
Radeon Graphic Card, R9 270 memory 2GB DDR5
HP, 25" HD momitor
Track IR 5
Two (2) Lilliput 7" usb screen monitors
Two (2) Thrustmaster MFD’s
Thrustmaster Warthog controller
I get 60 FPS at start up drops to 35-43 engine start, in flight 43 FPS Low level approx. 38 FPS with Flir, TGP, Fcr, TFR no stud-er at all very smooth no video jump, slow to build clouds, they seem to pop up, Distance building slow to show but pop up. But would prefer a higher Frame rate at Low Level looking for a card to match MB and CPU above, any suggestions to improve FPS at low level and overall FPS for the Game would be welcome. Not a over clock-er so that’s out for now, little knowledge of that. Price range 350-450 US Any suggestions?

Can your monitor handle it?

Arty not sure what you mean by that

Well depending and on vsync settings in many cases cause of monitor refresh rates you can’t see more then the monitors setting. In many cases it was 60.
That’s all, I thought it was known.Sent from TapaTalk

Interesting debate on another gaming forum about fps
[http:// http://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/7199031187](http:// http://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/7199031187)
As Arty says, the actual limitation will always be your monitor refresh rate. The smoothness of the video will be a limitation of your system performance. The lower the performance, the mor dropped frames and the less smooth the video.
Possibility you could run always at 60 fps as a theoretical maximum but still perceive stutter due to dropped frames. -
So Arty, Jetlag, FPS are heavily tied to refresh rate, did not know that, so would an upgrade of my graphic card help in a increase of FPS or a upgrade of the monitor be better. I have no stutter at this time but the low frame rate at times (as low as 28 FPS during low level) worries me. Even at that low frame rate the video has no stutter, makes me think the graphic card is working hard for the money.
-
Well since the thing is fluid with no stutters then why upgrade?
And that’s why I asked for the monitor. You could’ve spend some xxx money on it and gain just 5 fps. Would u be happy with it?
So check your monitor specs first and then also the cpu and mobo and then decide what to do.Sent from TapaTalk

OK Arty I will take a look at both items and work from there, thanks for the food for thought.

You are welcome

NikolaCC have you tried this?
"Go to User/Config. Open falcon bms.cfg with notepad and find the following entry:
set g_bExportRTTTextures 0 Change it from 1 to 0. Start with this option and see if you get any FPS back."

I was told it’s smart to use Notepad++ to edit files… anyone disagree?
-
Notepad is fine, for me this setting definitely gave me more fps. Don’t forget to save after editing.

I don’t get it. I have seen this solution posted many times.
Ain’t the default value zero?
Or it is 1?Sent from TapaTalk

I think 1 is on and 0 is off. I do remember changing the default as I only use one screen. isn’t the setting for multi screen.@Arty:

Default value for “set g_bExportRTTTextures” is 1. Confirmed.
Nikos. -
As the manual says …
g_bExportRTTTextures This enables the shared texture memory area for HUD/MFDs/ HMCS/RWR/DED/PFL. This is independent from BMS external window usage. Available options: 0/1. Default = 1.
Please note: this option must be enabled (1) for MFDE to work.Might be Worth erading the FPS quest chapter as well
-
Not logical to me.
Most users don’t use it so the common would be this to be 0.
Anyway thanx.Oh and I don’t usually read the manual first. Wrong - right that’s the way…
-
you do what you want Arty
but then try not to confuse ppl on the forum with your uncertaincywe wrote the manuals to explicity stop this nonsense
When you (or anyone for that matter) refer to something, it would be nice to check first if it’s right, that way, ppl have the right info. -
Sure we have discussed this many times and with many…
Still it was a 2 points q. and I believe the manual doesn’t cover the why 1 is default.I’m not saying it should.
Also I’m not trying to confuse anyone. Trying to help.
As u witness I say IIRC and in many late posts u’ve seen me referencing to the manual or saying read the manual. So please don’t uncertainly say I’m uncertain on my posts on purpose. word play. Cause as you see I try already.
