Need help with MOD for F-16D canopy…....
-
Hi All,
I was wondering if it would be possible to make a MOD to incorporate the canopy arch into the canopy, so it would resemble the view from the backseat of the F-16D.
I am currently using gizemkar’s excellent canopy reflection MOD, medium glare setting:and was wondering if this could be altered to show the canopy arch of the dual cockpit. Attached is a pic of the view I would be after. As I have no clue whatsoever how to do this, I was hoping (if its not too difficult) someone with more skills than me (nearly everyone) could make such a mod.
Here’s a pic taken out of the F-16D:
The reason I am after a Dual canopy is my simpit which is based on the rear seat:
Many thanks,
Chris

How does your ASHM work?
-
I have the original bezel for the ASHM, so by projecting the FLIR image onto it, I can adjust brightness and contrast using the FLIR options, via the wheels on the bezel. Switching it on/off is by switching HUD on/off. It’s pretty close to the real ASHM, although the real thing also has the normal video (non IR) mode.

Reflections inside canopy are dynamic based on head/eyes location and viewing angles, Falcon canopy reflection mods are based on static image. Would be great to have this more realistic and dynamic in the future, although I have no idea how this could be achieved in sim.

canopy reflection mods are based on static image
If the reflection mod is based on a static image, wouldnt it be possible to add another layer to the dds file showing the canopy arch? As I am using a simpit, I only use the 2D views, so that might work???

How do you get the FLIR image separately from the main view?

I extract the HUD view to the ASHM with the BMS extraction tool and then switch off the HUD from the main view (a new option in BMS 4.33).
