ICP Tumbwheels

Verified. SYS is the only one TW with built-in switch. Good!
I think SYM and BRT both have switches - they both have “OFF” legends imprinted on the ICP. So it would/should be just the left side ones, but you can double check me…

Hi Stevie. I also was thinging so. But i checked the FUL KEY mapping into BMS CONTROLLER SETUP U.I. and i’ve found that SYS is the only with ON/OFF. Anyway i’m going to purchase 2 pots with switch included.
Terminator. I will use something different, not the PCB. I don’t know the english for “scheda millefori”. Anyway it is a board with a lots of holes where you can install all the components you want such as pushbutton, led’s and so on. Stay tuned. -

That’s exactly what I meant and gonna use, still a PCB though [emoji2].
That language barrier doesn’t make it easier [emoji1] [emoji1] -

Stay tuned.…I had to look it up, but I would call “scheda millefori” “proto board” in English! Good choice…I always like to include room for growth in my switch selections, so just because BMS doesn’t include a callback now, I like to think it could in the future - so I try to go with what the airplane does over what BMS does. Buona fortuna!

All four tumbwheels have a detent when fully turned down, verified on the real deal. So for a realistic build all four should have the switch, you won’t be using it of course, but who knows, maybe in 2 or 3 Falcon weeks[emoji1].

having a physical switch and an electronic switch are two different things. Sure, go for a physical detent, but I wouldnt start pulling hair out over setting up an electrical switch for it.
-
Correct of course, just saying that if you’re going to buy pots with a detent it usually means there’s a switch included but in this situation no need to connect it
-
Hi guys… i can’t find those pots! It seems that they are all CW and the built-in switch is placed on the left-hand (CW circuit). Very tired… i’m wondering what pot is used in the real ICP.
-
Could see if honeywell sell pots, they might have something. Those are the guys to buy the real switches off of, mebbe they have pots too.

I’ll take a look… hope the price is good XD

Finally i chosed Encoders with Built-In Push-button. They works very very good. Now i’m waiting for the Hispapanels ICP. Than i’m ready to begin!

Interesting, wonder how you’re going to implement those switches.
Got my ordered ICP in, front plate looks great, the buttons not that great, need some work to make them more like the originals. I will see what I’m gonna do about that. Still have to order the switches and other stuff, I have been working on a bigger project in the house that needs to be finished first -

Still have to order the switches and other stuff, I have been working on a bigger project in the house that needs to be finished firstHi Terminator. I use Pokeys 56U and choosed a matrix connection (4 Columns x 8 Rows) in order to save pins, here i connect push-buttons and switches. The encoders can’t be placed into the matrix (i believe), except for their built-in push button.
The encoders had 5 pins… three in the front and 2 on the back. For the three ones, the center one goes to Pokeys Ground, the other two of them goes into proper Pokeys pin. The back two pins are for the switch, that as i said earlier goes into the matrix.
Then you have to configure it. Open the Pokeys U.I. and select one of the 2 pins on the Pokeys diagram, than select “Digital Input”. and than “Encoder”. You have to choose what Encoder is (Ex. n°1,2 etc…) and the Channel of the Encoder pin (A or B). Last thing is to select the proper sampling. Usually the encoder function sequence is on-off-on-off… . In this case you need to select x2 Sampling so that every time you rotate the shaft it gives an input. Repeat the same operation for the other pin, select the opposite Channel (if the first was A than this will be B). The sampling value will be set already so you don’t need to touch anything more. Hope this can help you. -
If I understand correctly, the encoder A side switches every step while turning clockwise, the B side while turning counter clockwise. Wouldn’t it work with just using the switches and DX assignments instead using a signal and sampling? Maybe I’m just approaching it to simple, but trying to learn….
-
Keeping an eye on this thread.
Hispapanels makes a reference to vipercore nl website for the icp pcb. This may not solve/help with the wheels, but am I overlooking something?
Why not use this pcb if it fits like a glove? -

Yes, i believe. Would you use a switch for on/off and pushbuttons or pot for increase/decrease brt? That’s ok.

Why not use this pcb if it fits like a glove?Yes i know and it is a great solution. But i have lots of materials in my garage, so i decided to do it myself. The circuit is very easy to do. Just some wiring and connectors. And patience XD
-
So in theory, the only thing missing combining the hispapanel and vipercore pcb would be the wheels. Is this statement correct?
-
Wheels and switches (DCS and Drift C/O,Norm/Warn Reset). But i suggest you tu write them and ask it.
