-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated!

Hi Ironman
I got your PM asking how to lift ICP buttons from my profile and place them in Ices profile.
Its easy and I will gladly tell you how if you can tell me why you prefer to stick with Ices profile when my profile is just a version of Ices but with many improvements.
If the reason is you do not want to use my keyfile then I will gladly attempt to modify my profile to suit the keyfile that you prefer
PM me a copy of your keyfile and I will take a look at it, is it The one from Ices download?

Nothin personal - It has taken me many weeks to “spread” ICEs profile over 5 touch screens … happy to meet on Skype to discuss - send me a PM with Skype details, its good to talk ;0)
The origins of the key file I use are lost in the mists of time but happy to send it to you …
Ironman.

OK Ironman I see your point, so here are instructions on how to copy buttons from my profile to yours:-
Open both profiles together select the ICP panel in each. Shrink so you can see both at same time on screen.
On layers tab unlock button on both profiles. Select in your profile and delete button. Select in my profile and edit/copy button.
Change back to your profile and edit/paste button.
Repeat for other three buttons then rearrange order on layers tab to put in a neat sequence.
Save your profile……DONE

WORKED LIKE A CHARM - MANY THANKS.
-
I would’ve just told him to change the “skin” of the button…
-
That is a lot harder to do, I cannot remember how I did it in the first place!
Where are the ICP button images stored? Not in my image folder!!
-
It’s hard-coded into Helios, IIRC.

hey chaps it worked let be happy ;0)
Ice I changed the chain switch next to the parking brake to Ground Jettison Enable ( Left Aux Panel) - you will need this if you are going to Bore sight your Mavs on the ground ;0)

I’ll be going through my profile with a fine-toothed comb soon, but I have a lot of catching up to do. As it is, I’m just sorting out getting the damn thing running and playing nicely again, so your patience is appreciated!

I finally got Helios running sweet with your profile Ice! One problem though and I’m not sure if it’s Helios. I have a Dell S2240T touch screen monitor which I know others use. I have it set as monitor 2 in extended desktop with a Vizio 60" 4K TV as the main. The touch panel works great when I duplicate the monitors but when I extend them the touch screen presses are happening on screen 1 and not the actual touch screen which is screen 2. (edit)
I fixed this problem.Thanks!

For those that are wondering, this is fixed by going to Control Panel -> Tablet PC Settings -> Configure -> Setup…. at least in Win10 but should be the same in Win7/8/8.1

Thanks Ice. I’m still having resolution issues. I’ve had Helios work correctly twice but after restarting the computer and re-doing the monitors when prompted everything is FUBAR. I’m not even sure what fixed it the second time. Also I’m unable to make any changes to your profile in Helios. Everything is grayed out even after reinstalling. Any suggestions? I’ve yet to find an in depth manual on Helios.
Thank you sir.

After re-installing, everything looks like it’s going to work… Then I launch BMS and Helios shifts… I’m seriously about to pull my hair out. Like I stated above I’ve had Helios stay aligned twice when launching BMS even though the touch pad didn’t work. Could it be that I’m using a 4K TV and the resolution is too high for the touch screen monitor? MFDE works beautifully though so if all else fails I’ll put my Cougar MFD’s over a screen and use a G13 for the ICP.
The first pic is before launching BMS the second is after launch…. Help?

what if you launch bms in windowed modus ?
-
I haven’t tried yet. Pretty much everything is grayed out in Helios for me and not clickable. How would I go in to windows mode? Any help is appreciated.
BTW, I WILL DONATE TO WHOMEVER HELPS ME FIX THIS!
-
do you have a link to your helios profile ?
-
Your problem is that your monitors are sideways
Note that when playing in FULLSCREEN mode (“Cockpit Displays to External Windows” is NOT checked), the 2D screen will fill your entire monitor but the forced-change of resolution will kick the Helios display out of whack. Don’t worry about this, Helios will return aligned once you’re in 3D cockpit. When playing in WINDOWED mode (“Cockpit Displays to External Windows” is checked), the 2D screen will only display in the corner of your monitor and Helios will not be mis-aligned.
So test this way –- DO NOT mind where Helios is on the 2D screen (game menus). Check if Helios is aligned once you are in the 3D cockpit.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip Ice. However, Helios goes completely away when I enter the sim. MFDE is still running but Helios isn’t. I honestly think it’s the fact I’m running a 4K TV/Monitor with a 1900x1100? Touchscreen. I have a an older 42" Phillips TV I’ve used before that’s only 1080P. I’ll try it tomorrow. Like I said in an earlier post, Helios has worked in game twice. The buttons didn’t function but it was lined up and looked amazing. Whatever is wrong is on my end and I’ll fix it. Thanks for all the help gentlemen.

Like I said, when BMS forces the main screen down to a lower resolution (1024?), it has the effect of kicking out the rest of the picture to the right but once you’re in the 3D cockpit, the main screen returns to it’s original resolution and it should bring Helios back into the picture.
Another thing to try is to swap monitors so that your main screen is on the right-most and everything else is on the left. Remember, you’ll have to re-adjust your monitor layout in Helios as well if you do this.
