-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated!

Your problem is that your monitors are sideways
Note that when playing in FULLSCREEN mode (âCockpit Displays to External Windowsâ is NOT checked), the 2D screen will fill your entire monitor but the forced-change of resolution will kick the Helios display out of whack. Donât worry about this, Helios will return aligned once youâre in 3D cockpit. When playing in WINDOWED mode (âCockpit Displays to External Windowsâ is checked), the 2D screen will only display in the corner of your monitor and Helios will not be mis-aligned.
So test this way â- DO NOT mind where Helios is on the 2D screen (game menus). Check if Helios is aligned once you are in the 3D cockpit.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip Ice. However, Helios goes completely away when I enter the sim. MFDE is still running but Helios isnât. I honestly think itâs the fact Iâm running a 4K TV/Monitor with a 1900x1100? Touchscreen. I have a an older 42" Phillips TV Iâve used before thatâs only 1080P. Iâll try it tomorrow. Like I said in an earlier post, Helios has worked in game twice. The buttons didnât function but it was lined up and looked amazing. Whatever is wrong is on my end and Iâll fix it. Thanks for all the help gentlemen.

Like I said, when BMS forces the main screen down to a lower resolution (1024?), it has the effect of kicking out the rest of the picture to the right but once youâre in the 3D cockpit, the main screen returns to itâs original resolution and it should bring Helios back into the picture.
Another thing to try is to swap monitors so that your main screen is on the right-most and everything else is on the left. Remember, youâll have to re-adjust your monitor layout in Helios as well if you do this.
-
Ok, getting closer but for a couple things. My key presses still do not line up and the sim is skewed to the right in windows mode.
-
Everything is lined up but the key presses still show up on the main display. Iâve gone in to display options but I canât get it to keep the key presses in the touch screen⌠Win10Pro. Almost there!@!@!

Found it and calibrated! OK when pushing the buttons my keystrokes arenât showing so Iâm assuming I need to put my .key profile somewhere?
(EDIT) Ok I found where to point Helios to my .key file and have done so but still no joy on getting a response from BMS when pressing a key. This is where I put in the path to my .key profileâŚ. Is it right? Also I have verified that my touch screen is working and calibrated. I can see a white dot when I press the buttons on the ICP.
Ignore the text file.

After looking at all the posts again am I to understand that Iceâs profile will not work for BMS 4.33_2? If so Iâll have to figure out how to change monitor 1 to 2 in Weepopâs. When I look at the profile in notepad I only see Monitor. Not Monitor 1 or 2.
-
After more experimenting when the profile is running I can use the mouse and click on a button and it works. However when I use the screen it doesnât work. I can see that Iâm touching the button but the buttons donât behave visually the same. IE, when using the mouse I can see the sequence toggle on the ICP move up, down, left or right. Not so when using the touch screen. Any ideas?
Thanks,

With your mouse pointer on your top screen - the one that doesnât have the ICE Helios profile running - when you touch on one of the switches or buttons on the Helios screen does you mouse pointer disappear from the top screen?
Do this while you have your desk top on the non Helios screen so you are not in BMS. If your mouse pointer stays on the desk top screen your touch screen is not working as a touch screen.
If you pointer disappears from your desk top when you click on a Helios button - close Helios and drag a desk top icon to the screen Helios was on using you mouse pointer then using you finger double tap on the dragged icon after you have moved your mouse pointer off the icon and see if it activates the icon as it would if you used you mouse to click or double click it.
Let me know how you get on - just trying to eliminate the obvious before we try anything else ;0)

Thanks for the help Ironman! I have it working now by making the touch screen my main display even though it is monitor 2. However, the sim will not go full res. I had to set my 4K monitor to 1920 x 1080 to be able to get a large enough picture to be able to fly. Iâm not sure if it can be fixed because when I reset monitor 1 back to main display the touch screen stops functioning.
This is what it looks like when I run monitor 1 at its native resolution with monitor 2 (touch screen) set as main display.

Wicked, can you skype?
-
OMG, so many postsâŚ. Iâll see if I can work through it allâŚ
First things firstâŚ
My Helios profile should work with 4.33, U1, and U2. Otherwise, thereâd be more people complaining about it not working.Second, Helios should work fine whether you are playing fullscreen or -windowed mode⌠although youâll lose framerates if playing in -windowed mode. Get MFDE or better yet, YAME64 and play in fullscreen mode all the time!
Third, make sure your touchscreen is recognized as a touchscreen and that youâve calibrated it. To do this, go to CONTROL PANEL - TABLET PC SETTINGS - DISPLAY - CONFIGURE and click the Setup button. After that, click the Calibrate button below it. Save your calibrations. Youâve just told Windows which of your screens is the touchscreen and youâve calibrated it. To check, drag an icon onto your touchscreen⌠doesnât matter which icon. Letâs say is a MS Word icon. Double-click on it on your touchscreen USING YOUR FINGER. If MS Word opens, then youâre all set. If it does not open and you see your cursor on your other screen, youâve just failed miserably. Start again.
Fourth, make sure youâre using MY .key file. Your screenshot shows you using Wathog_DX-4_33_2.key and that wonât work at all. At best, youâll get patchy results. Use my .key file.
I hope that explains everything. I think you using the wrong .key file is your biggest boo-boo so far. Set your big screen as your main screen, follow the instructions above, and tell us what happens next.

This will be my last post since youâve so generously offered to help me on skype!
My touch panel is set up and calibrated. It works fine when opening programs, scrolling through posts and everything,âwhen NOT set as the main displayâ. It isnât until I try and use it with Helios that it doesnât activate the buttons. I can see on the touch screen that Iâm pressing in a certain location as it highlights and shows a white dot. However it does not activate the switches on the Helios profile. Only when the touch screen is set to main display does it work.
I have used your .key and it had no effect when the touch screen is not set to main display. Also as long as it is set to main display the WH.key you saw works like a champ and gives me all the Morphine profile settings for my WH and activates all the Helios switches. Blah! Lol Iâll chat with you tomorrow.

FIXED!!! The size of text and apps had to be the same at 175% for both monitors. A week and a half to get this working lol. Thanks for the help Ice and everyone else!
-
You upped the size of text and stuff and that messed up Helios? Very odd, but I think I can see the connection.
-
I think both screens had to have the text and icon sizes the same in order for the screen to align with where the computer thinks the Helios graphic is??? Lol I donât know, Iâm just happy it work!

Good to know!

Hi Ice,
Thanks for sharing your work. I tried your profile but the gages do not show up (empty). Any ideas whatâs wrong?

MFDE control gauges not HELIOS

Hi Ice,

Hi skyrider! Please read the first post on the BLOG linked in the first page. You can use MFDE or YAME64 for gaugesâŚ. if youâre just starting out, Iâd strongly recommend going with YAME64!
