Throttle at 0 but fuel flow is at ~10000?
-
Hi, I’m new to the game and a thing that bothers me right now (and I can’t seem to find any explanation for it) is that even if my throttle is at zero/idle - the fuel flow never falls below ~11000.
I’m using Thrustmaster TFlight Hotas X. And yes - I’ve checked - both game and windows properties for it show that when I pull the throttle handle to 0 - it reports no throttle being applied, bottom of the axis etc.
So as a result it makes it impossible for me to even taxi, because my plane instantly gains 100+ knots before I can even reach the landing strip to turn to - even with parking break on
Of course I can skip this and go straight to runway start and fly from there - but afterwards I cannot land because my airspeed never goes below 450-500 knots even with the throttle at idle and deploying an air break makes zero difference.Am I missing something? Not understanding something? Is 11000-12000 fuel flow at a minimum throttle normal?

Looks like you have inverted axis ingame, you can also check that ingame, in setup, where you have this little box, which shows you, where your input is
Go to setup, click advanced and search for your throttle control

Is your afterburner detent set at the bottom of the throttle range? (Red line in throttle axis on the Controller Setup page)

Iirc the game does not let you invert the throttle axis like it does the other axes. You might need some software like joymapper to reverse the axis for you.

Pretty sure the T-Flight axis isn’t inverted …. mine wasn’t.

Yeah looks like it was afterburner detent after all, thanks. It was at the very bottom by default and I didn’t figure out what “set AB” button meant. Set it at 75%, hopefully gonna be comfortable.
While we are at it - another question if you please. Is it possible to set a button from the controller to act like a ‘shift’ button - in a way shift/ctrl/alt buttons on keyboard work?
F.e. setting ‘button 8’ to be a ‘shift’ button so f.e. a typical use for dpad would be turning pilot’s view, while button 8 + dpad would move radar cursor (using shift + arrow keys on keyboard isn’t exactly comfortable). I’m not sure I’m going to get TrackIR any time soon and sadly have only one dpad. -
Not arbitrarily but there is SimHotasPinkyShift which acts as a dual-use pinky button and DX shift if held. That’s your only option for DX-input based shifting. Otherwise it has to be keyboard-based.

t.flight hotas x?? that sounds a lot like the rudder axis on the throttle quad (the rocker on the back side of the grip). may just need to reassign the axis in your setup

Yes, from time to time I have to reset mine in setup. It will set the rocker on the throttle as the throttle instead of the throttle itself. I believe the correct throttle should be z axis.
If slider is set to throttle instead of z axis you can have throttle issues because the middle of the slider is mid throttle, you have to rock up or down to speed up or slow.
Every so often if my stick is unplugged I will have to check and reset it to z axis.
