I have only ONE combination. I put together A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3 as ONE 48 km side “Super Tile” and then evenly distributed it throughout the theater. When you fly over the 48 km “Super Tile” tile you could not see the texture repetition.

I’ve seen miracles in falcon in the last 5 years…

I am sure that everyone knows about 4096 TILES and 256 SETs limit. I did a little test with SETs and TILES and in my opinion it was an interesting result. Tiles ammount (4096) was not critical in my test. The number of SETs is critical!
In my test I had 3565 TILES and 257 SETs. In game the first Tile from SET #257 was replaced by the first Tile from SET#1.I hope that the BMS code will allow the developers to increase the possible number of SETs of at least to 1000 SETs and then we will be able to use the 16,000 tiles.
P.S. Regarding performance (FPS) and Tiles amount:
- KTO Toms Korea, 1450 Tiles - FPS 54-61;
- KTO Polak Korea, 3565 Tiles - FPS 44-56.
Test condition - simple mission (TE), one F-16 (JanHas), sunny weather:
I checked FPS on my LowEnd PC )))
- Win7x64;
- Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5800 3.2GHz
- RAM 8Gb;
- AMD Radeon HD 5700.

why?
u could have 2 sets. One HD=High Detail like 1024 and one Falcon detail like the 512.
If u work on a higher resolution with an automation u can have the lower res in a few minutes ready to serve. just resize and save to a different folder… many progs do it.

I have tested 512 and 1024 res TILES in the UTO. In game I didn’t see difference at low altitude. So i decided to use 512 res tiles.

To develop good looking UTO I need about 10 000 tiles (ATM 4096). If BMS Team increase the number of tiles then I’ll start creating a full theater and will start proper thread to discuss the development.

I dont see that happening. If they could increase it I am sure they would have already done so.

Who knows ))) But I believe that the BMS Team will continue to improve Falcon!!!

I’d use the supertile in hd res and split the tiles at 512 is enough, no stress for pc.
Tavor, go ahead and think about the present, don’t leave your project, try to create supertiles for 3/4 big regions map

Thank you ALL for your support of UTO project and my tests!
Now I have images for the BIG Supertile, 96x96 km, but this will be 9216 tiles ))). I’m still testing a flexible and curving coastline of the Crimean peninsula. I hope you like it ))) -
I dont see that happening. If they could increase it I am sure they would have already done so.
Remember, it took them a while to make it possible for independent theaters to have their own Sim folders!!
