Problem fine tuning mav slew
-
Good Day, Sackman- Are you moving the SOI to the Mav before you try to slew it?
Yes, as soon as I hit tms up on the FCR to lock an area up the Mav screen becomes SOI. The position of the mav crosshairs are close to the FCR target area but as soon as
I hit the slew it jumps way off target area. I also hit tms up before I slew and it still jumps. -

Just to confirm, you are in PRE delivery mode and you have Cursor Zero’d (Dash 34 p.167) preengagement? -

Is it mandatory to boresite mavs with TGP in 4.33 if you only plan to use the FCR?? I didnt do that but that shouldnt make any difference.

Yes and it does. The “twitch” is the Mavericks remembering “oh right I was supposed to be misaligned slightly.” It only happens the first time. If the code was a little more air tight you’d never notice it.

When you say “it only happens the first time” it will twitch on each single station mav load then? I guess I can try it but I’m not in front of the game computer.

Oh yes probably once per station per flight. Each station having its own misalignment.

Thanks Frederf, guess I’ll start bore sighting the mav’s first.

Just tried it. I have the same experience but i did a boresight first and then tried it.
It happens for every Maverick, not just once per station.
Boresight also didnt help. The Mav in itself is kinda difficult now if it jumps around and you have to search your target twice per shot. -

Yeah, this is definitely an issue. It makes using the FCR as a coarse grained targeting sensor (which it should be awesome for) a complete crap shoot. I’ve taken to using the FCR and then using the Mavericks in VIS mode with the radar diamond on my HUD. I really doubt this is intended behavior.

No complaints, still a great sim, many thanks to all involved these many years….
