Question about Track IR and Greek customs. Does anyone know if they will charge me?
-
Hello guys, I’m from Greece and I was thinking of finally buying a Trackir from https://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/.
My main question is about Greek customs and whether or not they will charge more than the already high price of 160 euros… Does anyone that happens to be (or not be…) Greek here know? Do you guys have Track IR and how much did you pay for it? Also, are there other cheaper solutions that I could acquire here in Greece?
Thanks so much!

I went with the DelanClip from the UK - Might be a better alternative for you

I build my IR based head tracker DIY. For about 10€ and it does at least as good as any TIR I have compared it to.
Back to your question Buy it from a seiner within the EU ans you are safe
For example official Dealer listed on the natural point site for Germany/EU

But here any big electronics store will sell TrackIRGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

I actually made my tracker using a large paperclip (for stiff wire to hold the LEDs), a few IR LEDs, a battery housing, three ancient Russian resistors and a mounting plate from my father’s supply. That, plus some tape, solder, wires and adhesive velcro strips. Not everyone has that sort of electronic junk laying around, but such components cost pocket change in any electronics store. The only problem is the Logitech C170 webcam I’m using with it, which just isn’t very good for that purpose (it also sucked as a webcam, so no surprise here, but at least I’m not terribly sorry about breaking the IR filter in the process of removing it). You should probably get PS3Eye if you don’t already have a webcam you’d like to use for that. High FOV is a good thing to have there.

+1 on the Trackhat. I use the wired one. Works great.

delan clip here ,if you buy something from a country inside europe you dont pay customs ,if not then if the value of the shipment is above 22 euros according to the customs then you pay taxes ,i think 22 euros is the value of free charge you have to read the law ,for delan clip i didnt pay any taxes it was free of charge it passed the customs,i think i only paid 3 euros for the post office.
