FCR Manual DRAFT
-
Appreciate of this MANUAL , Good job~
And a little problem here, can anyone confirm whether the VSR actually work in 433U2 ?
I can’t get it to work…I have return, tracks in RWS/TWS/LRS but when changing to VSR, the screen gone complete blank, no returns, can Not say whether Alert scan and Confirm scan works. anyone got luck?
-
VSR works for me (I had to use the mode to check the symbology was correct for the diagram). Having said that I have NEVER used it on a sortie! Perhaps I am missing something but RWS/TWS and ACM work for me.
-
I’ve run several test and use cm52 AM A-block15 types, none of them working correctly.
Even with dozen of bandit inbond on RWS/TWS, when switching to VSR, the screen gone slient. Occasionally there jump out a yellow return, after I try to lock , the STT can not be maintained and return gones too. And I find out the return is a tail aspect friendly(1 of 3 test aircraft) which is not suppose to appear on the screen(HPRF only concern headon target)
-
Another thing to be mentioned,I’m making a tutorial theseday,so I tested a lot. I found the TWS can guide up to 6 AIM120 simultaneously with all target correctly captured(before active 6 purple triangle displayed). And the Manual indicate 4 at maximum,no knowing if a bug or capability has been upgraded.
-
Which manual? Quote below is from the -34 (page 117). This section is unchanged from the 4.32 Manual.
Missile datalink has been fixed to allow you to support up to six missiles in flight. These may be fired on up to two targets (TTS) or up to six targets (TWS). You can get A/F pole and time remaining data for all six missiles if you have six in flight and provided that their intended targets are still present on the FCR as track files.

yeah,Thx to darkman, now we found another tiny bug in rmax’s Manual .
And what about the VSR ? Though I hardly use VSR in combat , but I still want to finger out whether it’s a bug or something else.

Where does the manual say it tracks 4 AMRAAMs. Can you point to the page number. Thanks.

Oh, So sorry, my fault, must mixed with some other reference I was cross checking. My bad.

Very nice job! A very needed radar comprehensive document! Extremely useful for those starting in Falcon from scratch.
After a fast reading I maybe noticed a little element missing: I think I did not see any mention to the aspect angle info showed on the upper left side of the MFD? They are not in the diagrams at least. Maybe a brief graphic explanation of the aspect angle and how is presented in the radar would be interesting…
Apologizing beforehand if it was there and I missed!
Cheers

Tulkas thanks. Figure 22 page 23 says that the figure on the top left is the target’s magnetic heading (not aspect angle) when in STT/SAM. Is this what you mean? I might be wrong (I have been before and will be many times in the future) I would need to double check if that is correct.
-
Hi Rmax.
Is not the magnetic heading what I mean. To the left of the magnetic heading used to appear (still does in BMS 33, right? I’ve got to fly more ) the aspect angle which is the angle from the contacts tail to our ship. It is shown as the angle plus L or R for left or right.
Cheers
Tulkas
-
Roger. I will check it out!
-
Well I checked the -34 and indeed it does have Target Aspect Angle. I would wager more money on BMS being a faith rendition of the FCR than me being right. Looks like another update needs to come out! Thanks Tulkas.
-
Wow just found this today, thank you!

I hope it is useful. There are some things that need a little update: the major one is the target aspect angle noted by Tulkas. I want to do an update but will be in a Falcon BMS 3 - 4 weeks.
Of course more than happy for people to distribute for free on their VFW websites and what not. I would be disappointed if someone tried to sell the manual like an idiot did a while back with the BMS manual. It is free so that it can help people and for no other reason.

Selling a free user made manual….that would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic. I have see the same thing done with game assets. I have actually had that happen to me when I worked on mods for Operation Flashpoint, and like you people where free to distribute or add it in a mod pack and all I wanted was my name in the credits for it. Anyways, I found your supplement/manual very helpful with filling in some gaps I feel where left out of other manuals or not clear enough. It is well organised, easy to read (for me at least) and the illustration look professional. I have now added it to my reference list of documents on my tablet for quick access in game. Wish I could help with fact checking or something but the reason I like this manual is because I suck at using the radar right now best I might be able to do is spell check…and their is already programs for that…so…moral support it is Again cheers for the hard work.

Thanks - spell check and corrections to terminology, grammar etc readily accepted! I am writing another manual at the moment (among other projects). Help is always wanted!

Thanks for the supplementary doc
Very interesting ! -
Hello Rmax
please can you explain the difference between “Sensor Point of Interest” and “System Point of Interest” ?

One’s a typo
