Mud's Profile

Mud, if I might make a suggestion:
In Morphine’s profile, he excludes all the devices that may cause issues that myself and SgtJSG run into with combining devices with the following lines:
Configure(&LMFD, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&RMFD, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&HCougar, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&T16000, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&TWCSThrottle, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&TFRPRudder, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&T16000L, MODE_EXCLUDED);You may want to consider going ahead and putting that in the beginning of the TARGET profile, since it doesn’t negatively affect those who don’t have those devices and preemptively solves a lot of head scratching for those who do.

Sorry for post spamming, should really gather my thoughts first
But I’m having a similar issue to what people have described as many of my buttons are not working in game. I changed my device sorting to this:
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)”
{B679044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “T-Rudder”
{0402044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Joystick - HOTAS Warthog”
{0404044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Throttle - HOTAS Warthog”But now I can’t even get my joystick to show up properly in the advanced flight control screen. Any ideas? I’ve tried a couple different ways of sorting. I’m wondering why I get “Virtual Game Controller (root)” when everyone else seems to have “Thrustmaster Combined” as well.
Thanks for the profile and all the troubleshooting work you do as well!
EDIT:
So a few things may have been causing my issue. I made sure my other controllers (XBO and G29) were fully disconnected, Logitech Gaming Software was off, and ran a fresh copy of Mud’s profile with my rudder exclusion put in. So if anyone is having similar issues to mine, make sure your Warthog and rudder are the only things plugged in, and that all other controller software is turned off (I did leave TIR on).

Seems odd that it’s reporting the throttle and joystick separately as well. Mine looks like this.
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Combined”
{B351044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 1”
{B352044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 2”
{00F2068E-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "CH PRO PEDALS USB "Just a wild guess (completely uninformed, based on no understanding of code) but try amending your file to;
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Combined”
{B679044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “T-Rudder”See what happens.

I have the throttle and stick also showing up again in the device sort list. Perhaps has something to do with starting BMS at least once without the script running.
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)" {076406A3-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals" {0402044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "Joystick - HOTAS Warthog" {0404044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "Throttle - HOTAS Warthog" {B351044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "F16 MFD 1" {B352044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "F16 MFD 2"
“Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)” I have only had since I moved to Windows 10. Not saying that’s the cause with certainty though.
narrowsoul, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll update my script one of these days to add those exclusions.
Best regards,
Mud

Thank you so much! This works! Thank you for taking your time to help me out! Really appreciate it.

Just installed BMS 4.33 U2, target and this script.
It appears to be working mostly, but my throttle is controlling my rudder axis for some reason and I can’t get my pedals to work. Any ideas?
Thanks
NVM: got it figured out.

Hey,
i’m having a little bit of an issue with your profile.
Basically when I load up the target file, go to game and load the .key file, only buttons on my throttle are working as they should. When I press button on my joystick it shows that eg “button 3” is pressed but there is no action assigned to that button.
. As you can see for the first 20secs I am pressing throttle buttons and they work fine, then I move to joystick and nothing (except for lever)I browsed this thread a little and tried to mess with the DeviceSorting to make it look like this but no success at all.
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)”
{00010777-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “MJoy”
{0402044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Joystick - HOTAS Warthog”
{0404044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Throttle - HOTAS Warthog”It worked fine just 14 days ago (I haven’t changed anything, in fact I haven’t touched BMS at all for those 14days)
edit:// running 4.33.3

From what I can make from the your video, everything appears to be working fine. Most buttons on the stick are DX assignments, and I see them light up under “joystick buttons”.
Have you tried if everything is working as it should once you’re in the jet?
Mud
-
yep I have, nothing on joystick worked while throttle buttons worked fine. However I did that before I tried messing around in DeviceSorting, gonna try it again when I get back from work.
-
Alright, so it appears that it indeed is working in the jet now with my current DeviceSorting (still shows nothing in settings). So hopefully case is closed, thanks
-
Yeah, DX assignments aren’t show in settings afaik. So must have been the devicesorting.txt indeed.
Glad you’ve got it sorted now!

Thank you for your profile Mud. It has been very useful. I have a couple of questions. I’ve made a couple of changes to it for what I prefer. However I’m stuck on couple more I’d like to do but cant figure it out. I’d like to put the NWS/AR disco button back where it is on RL viper sidestick. Merely editing the script by swapping them seems to do nothing. Also I have been using the TFR extensively as of late. I’d like the paddle switch to go back to it’s original RL function. I also tried editing the script without success.
If you or anyone else reading this could enlighten me it would be much appreciated. Forgive my ignorance on this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Changing:
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, PULSE+DX3); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, DX5);
to
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, PULSE+DX3);
Should swap the NWS and master mode as far as I know.

I stupidly did this.
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S3, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S1, PULSE+DX3);
Instead of this.
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, PULSE+DX3);
Notice the S1 and S3 placement? I placed them as if the script cares about the //text, I effectively changed nothing. Your post helped me straighten it out. I also figured out how to give my paddle switch it’s RL function back. With a little trial and error I figured out I had to give it a DX assignment.
Thanks for the help and quick reply Mud.

First off, thanks a ton, great profile and so easy to get up and running.
I’d like to adjust the sensitivity curve for my rudder pedals (TM TFRP, they’re WAYYYY too sensitive at default settings). Would I have to add them into the profile to do that? If so, some guidance on that would be great. I tried to go to ‘Edit Configuration’ through the GUI, but it only looks for *.fcf files, not *.tmc to open and edit.
Right now, I’ve got this block at the top of the profile because of some earlier comments in the thread that BMS can only ‘see’ so many devices or something like that:
Configure(&LMFD, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&RMFD, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&HCougar, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&T16000, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&TFRPRudder, MODE_EXCLUDED) ;Thanks

I’m pretty sure it’s possible. I’ll look into as soon as I can, but because of my current RL situation I’m rather short on time. So I can’t make any promises.
I suggest you have a look in the pdf manuals for the TARGET scripting. Pretty sure they have that stuff covered there.Best regards,
Mud

Thanks mate, will do.

Hi, i have the same rudder pedals but cant get them to work in bms with the target profile.
When i turn on target, my controller list only shows keyboard and thrustmaster virtual controller, so i dont get any rudder input at all. When it’s off i can bind toe brakes and rudder just fine.
Do them work on your end ?Bye,
