Mud's Profile

Hey,
i’m having a little bit of an issue with your profile.
Basically when I load up the target file, go to game and load the .key file, only buttons on my throttle are working as they should. When I press button on my joystick it shows that eg “button 3” is pressed but there is no action assigned to that button.
. As you can see for the first 20secs I am pressing throttle buttons and they work fine, then I move to joystick and nothing (except for lever)I browsed this thread a little and tried to mess with the DeviceSorting to make it look like this but no success at all.
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)”
{00010777-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “MJoy”
{0402044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Joystick - HOTAS Warthog”
{0404044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Throttle - HOTAS Warthog”It worked fine just 14 days ago (I haven’t changed anything, in fact I haven’t touched BMS at all for those 14days)
edit:// running 4.33.3

From what I can make from the your video, everything appears to be working fine. Most buttons on the stick are DX assignments, and I see them light up under “joystick buttons”.
Have you tried if everything is working as it should once you’re in the jet?
Mud

yep I have, nothing on joystick worked while throttle buttons worked fine. However I did that before I tried messing around in DeviceSorting, gonna try it again when I get back from work.
-
Alright, so it appears that it indeed is working in the jet now with my current DeviceSorting (still shows nothing in settings). So hopefully case is closed, thanks
-
Yeah, DX assignments aren’t show in settings afaik. So must have been the devicesorting.txt indeed.
Glad you’ve got it sorted now!

Thank you for your profile Mud. It has been very useful. I have a couple of questions. I’ve made a couple of changes to it for what I prefer. However I’m stuck on couple more I’d like to do but cant figure it out. I’d like to put the NWS/AR disco button back where it is on RL viper sidestick. Merely editing the script by swapping them seems to do nothing. Also I have been using the TFR extensively as of late. I’d like the paddle switch to go back to it’s original RL function. I also tried editing the script without success.
If you or anyone else reading this could enlighten me it would be much appreciated. Forgive my ignorance on this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Changing:
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, PULSE+DX3); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, DX5);
to
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, PULSE+DX3);
Should swap the NWS and master mode as far as I know.

I stupidly did this.
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S3, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S1, PULSE+DX3);
Instead of this.
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, PULSE+DX3);
Notice the S1 and S3 placement? I placed them as if the script cares about the //text, I effectively changed nothing. Your post helped me straighten it out. I also figured out how to give my paddle switch it’s RL function back. With a little trial and error I figured out I had to give it a DX assignment.
Thanks for the help and quick reply Mud.

First off, thanks a ton, great profile and so easy to get up and running.
I’d like to adjust the sensitivity curve for my rudder pedals (TM TFRP, they’re WAYYYY too sensitive at default settings). Would I have to add them into the profile to do that? If so, some guidance on that would be great. I tried to go to ‘Edit Configuration’ through the GUI, but it only looks for *.fcf files, not *.tmc to open and edit.
Right now, I’ve got this block at the top of the profile because of some earlier comments in the thread that BMS can only ‘see’ so many devices or something like that:
Configure(&LMFD, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&RMFD, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&HCougar, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&T16000, MODE_EXCLUDED);
Configure(&TFRPRudder, MODE_EXCLUDED) ;Thanks

I’m pretty sure it’s possible. I’ll look into as soon as I can, but because of my current RL situation I’m rather short on time. So I can’t make any promises.
I suggest you have a look in the pdf manuals for the TARGET scripting. Pretty sure they have that stuff covered there.Best regards,
Mud

Thanks mate, will do.

Hi, i have the same rudder pedals but cant get them to work in bms with the target profile.
When i turn on target, my controller list only shows keyboard and thrustmaster virtual controller, so i dont get any rudder input at all. When it’s off i can bind toe brakes and rudder just fine.
Do them work on your end ?Bye,

New version can be found in the OP.
3.06 - Added exclusions.
@GreenFrog: See if the new version works out for you.

It works for me now, i had to remove the comment on the line
Configure(&TFRPRudder, MODE_EXCLUDED) ;
in order to get them back .
Thank you.P.S.
the updated link in the OP now contains the BMS 4.32 - Mud.key, i have no problems with the 4.33.key, so i guess it was added by mistake ? -
Thanks for pointing out the keyfile being the wrong version, GreenFrog.
Fixed now.
-
Thank you for the awesome keyfile Mud
Thanks to you setting up my HOTAS Warthog, which arrived today, was just a matter of plug and play.
-
I guess you’ve got it sorted, huh Zeeman?
You’re welcome. Happy flying!
-
Thanks
But now after I could do more torough testing I have noticed, that on the Throttle none of the buttons seems to work.
I tried to turn off anti colission lights - didnt work, I did the same with landing gear - didnt work.
Is there anything I have to do besides copying the keyfile in the config file and the tmc one into the target script file?
