TM Cougar & Warthog Serial Numbers: Lets see yours

No pic at the mo, they all look similar anyway
Had to go to the database, but Iām 04518. Only mods to my Cougar are Evenstrain titanium gimbals and hall sensors. Pre-ordered it and got it sometime after it was released. I recall having to wait past the expected date (US orders were delayed?), but I no longer recall anything else aside from the anger and disappointment
I wish I had a cool story to tell about it. But itās just put in a yeomanās shift for the past 15 years.
Hereās the Cougar World database if anyone might find it interesting or useful

I remember that North American sales delay DBond, and I think itās why my SN is what it is. My old buddy at Combatsim.com got one of the early ones because he was in the āpressā at the time. He is the first one on that list you posted with SN 104. Doesnāt seem to be significant USA owners until around SN 2500 or so. Funny, I can now see where some of my spare sets came from. Did WartHogs ever get a SN listing?
The only disappointment I had/have is that the original sales literature stated that the removable grip was to facilitate different aircraft control grips (F18, Mig29, EF2K - IIRC). Can anyone find that original article stating this?
As for posting pics, I think itās cool seeing the old soldiers like Schnidrs (I repost his image, hope thatās OK)
To quote schnidrman: "Worn paint = Character "
Itās oldā¦

Hey thatās Crashās Cougar!
I wrote articles for Combatsim and for Frugās and I got no such preferential treatment. Says alot about my articles I think.
Doesnāt seem to be significant USA owners until around SN 2500 or so
Yes, there are a few here and there, but after serial number 4000 itās a steady string of Americans.

Yes it isā¦ I see that now. Either Schniderman = Crash or bought it along the way like so many by now.
I wrote with Viking and Combatsim in the early days too. Didnāt get a press set either, but I did get monitors and thunderseat and other hardware back in the day. Like I said earlier, SN 105 should be kept in a TM museum.

I bought it in the summer of 2014, from āCaliā, another member of this community. Not sure how many times it has changed hands, but it is still working fine. Has the Uber1 mod w/ hall sensors, but is stock otherwise. Would love to go with force sensing, but that is going to have to wait a bit. I did have to repair the TQS the other night, as the brake shoe had come loose from the lever arm for adjusting drag on the throttle, but that was only a 10 min. fix. I would say I probably have more than a thousand hours on that stick. Would love to know how many actual hrs. are on it!
BTW, the paint wasnāt worn like that when I got it, I just have āleathery meathooksā! :wfish:

Cougar #3013 here, asked about 4 years back for it to be added to the flyfoxy database of cougar owners but no action on that front just yetā¦ Bought on eBay some years back in āas newā condition. I guess when it came new, it had chipped paint, a busted throttle pot and was missing screws from the ministick ring mountā¦ and it had a bit of slop in the grip from the infamous attachment point between the male part of the adaptor plug and the stick grip itself.
Still has that slop, but its had its gimbals replaced with the FCC-3, a new throttle pot installed, and grease cleaned from the throttle action, and depth added to the throttle friction adjustment point.

Freshmanās freshman Warthog HOTAS #59405. I wonder if the overall build and paint quality on a post-55k piece has improved over the first batches.

My freshly bought Warthog for BMS and DCS A-10C has a serial number #60793

I feel better that there are others that keep spares around.

Speaking of spares, just picked up an almost minty set (cursor needs fixing, im good at this kind of tinkering). Its s/n 18114 which doesnt show up in the old Cougar database. No one seems to respond to updating the data base, so i wonder if we should here in BMS forums?
