3xscreens deformation
-
Hi dear mates, maybe you can give a bit of light.
I have 3 screens to get wider FOV, it is very nice and immersive, but I know that to get this kind of surrounded view coming from a flat world makes a deformation on lateral screens image, the effect is that objects looks closer than they are.
do you know if there is something coming to correct it?, maybe it is something impossible to correct.
thanks in advance!!

Try positioning your screens in an arc - rather than just in a line - so they give a wrap a round view.

Thanks Ironman, I already did it, it is not a topic about screen positioning, is about deformation on the image due to FOV wider…my question is about if there is a software that can correct it.

There is, IIRC, but is not compatible with BMS. AFAIK, some racing sims (Asetto Corsa? iRacing? Project Cars?) can benefit from that software, but not much from flight sims.

Thanks Ice, then there is no other way than wait for such compatibility, just wondering if someone knows if BMS will come one day with this compatibility.

Even if it were on their to-do list, I suspect it’s way, way, way, way down at the bottom part of it.

an example image would be useful?
i know a lot of guys using 3 monitors for visual and i heard very few complaints about this particular issue. -

What did you set the FOV to in falcon bms.cfg?
Running 5911x1080 (bezel correction) on triple screens for main screen, I use “set g_fMaximumFOV 120” and haven’t really noticed an issue. -
The issue is existing and is already answered. And it’s not an issue actually.
There is a stretch on the far ends of the 3 side monitors.
This is peripheral vision actually and not center.Q:https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?22283-fov-on-3-monitors&p=396809&viewfull=1#post396809
Answer:From post 11 on the same thread.I believe it’s distortion from the way Falcon gfx engine displays FOV. The more to the edge the more the distortion. Everything inside the default fov area is just not distorted.
I believe this was discussed already in another thread. That’s a normal distortion for rectilinear projection 3D to 2D mapping. http://www.tawbaware.com/projections.htm
