Graphic bug : Theater elevation vs ground textures
-
Hello everyone!
I am a newbie to F4BMS enjoying the systems modelisation, but I am experiencing a graphic bug which is detrimental to the “eye-candiness” of the sim. This bug might be related to my rig or to the in-game/GPU settings, I really don’t have a clue, that is why I am posting here.
System background :
Falcon4BMS4.32U7. No shaders, Vsync and all boxes in advanded graphic settings kicked in game.
E6550 CORE 2 DUO @ 2.3Ghz, MSI P35 NEO2-FR, GTX650 1GB DDR5 pilote 335.23, TWINX CORSAIR DDR2 4X1024MO, SAMSUNG T133 300GB 7200RPM 8MB, LG L1954TQ-PF 19” @1280x1024x32, GREEN POWER 400W, OS : Windows 7 64 bit
I made an attempt to OC my CPU up to 3GHz, reverted back to 2.3GHZ but the bug is still here. I ran OCCT for 90min to test the GPU (at 2.3GHz), but no error was reported. No RAM defected after a full night MemTEST at 3GHz. No OC ever on the GPU.The symptoms :
Some ground textures flashing on both default Korea (terrain 9o’clock from AG Radar TE) and Balkans v3 (over Sarajevo) theaters.
Here are some vids:Korea :
https://flic.kr/p/pmN7NCBalkans :
https://flic.kr/p/pmN7NCKorea with multiple pauses/unpauses:
https://flic.kr/p/qj5NeNFrom the last video, it seems pretty clear that the foreground/background priority is messy. At the end of the vid, the brownish texture of the background mountain appears right in the middle of the green one in the foreground!
This bug has never occured with FSX or Condor, which I fly with HiRes photorealistic ground textures, so I tend to think that this is most likely game related.
Has anyone already experiencied such a bug? What is the cause and how can it be fixed?
I will appreciate any help on this topic. Thanks anyway for considering my issue.
BR,
KekeLekou

Actually, it is certainly on your side.
I never had this …
Could you try to inactivate all the shader, and try also some other nVidia setting. (post a screen of your setting could be useful)

Hello Dee-Jay!
From another forum you are quite well-acquainted with, I was hinted that the issue is related to z-buffering/culling. I’ll give a try at your proposal (not right now, I’m not home).
Merci encore.

Maybe related to the shaders?

This post is deleted! -
Did you install any hires textures? If so, remove them to see if it’s GPU memory overload.
It’s easy to check shaders even though you don’t have any discoloring.

Hello,
No HiRes textures installed on Korea theater. Balkans v3 is all about photoreal tiles, but anyway the issue occurs on both theaters.

It says you are using “pilote 335.23” is this a modified graphics driver?

Hi,
I had forgotten to update my system description after the last driver update. So I am using 344.75 DLed from Nvidia as “certified” ones.
Anyway, I can now fly a nice sim :- the texture flashing was due to my not checking any shaders with the configurator, but applying shaders induced microstuttering
- unchecking vsync ingame, and using “1/2 refresh rate” and “max prerendered frames” to 1 has solved the issue!
Thanks to all of you for your help, happy flying!
