3440 x 1440 is great in sim! but stretched campaign / setup screens || BMS 4.34
-
Running a new 3440 x 1440 LG curved monitor and the sim is great, when I get into the cockpit in the 3D world.
But the campaign / setup screens are stretched from a default 1024 resolution. Is there a fix / setting / workaround for this.
I will definitely live with stretched campaign map to enjoy the ultrawide 3D experience if necessary.

run the exe with the -window addition, for windowed mode. The UI will go back to its original 1024x768 format, but the 3d will fill the screen. It is also found to be the most stable way to run BMS as well.

Good to know. Won’t there be any FPS performance issues in windowed?

That’s really gonna depend on the GFX card you have. Short answer: no, not really. Long answer: yes, but the hit is such that your GFX card will have to render everything including explorer where in Fullscreen this is not the case. Since explorer/etc. takes very, very little to render, the performance hit is less significant than ever with modern tech (even going back several years). Unless you’re running a potato, you’ll not notice anywhere near a 5FPS shift.

Ok, that being said, the window title bar looks awful in 3D. Is there a way to get a borderless window? Other games have this i think.

Technical Manual Chapter 5, Main 3D. Un-check Borders. Easy breezy

But for any game/sim that doesn’t have native options to remove borders, Borderless Gaming is a simple app (found on Steam here) that lets you make any window into a borderless mode. It doesn’t even need Steam to be running in the background to launch, very small footprint (taking up 11MB of RAM in the background and <1% CPU)

change some GPU driver parameters : you will get not UI not stretched in center and left & right borders will be filled with black color
