Stuttering, FPS stuck, suspect: save files…
-
Sorry folks, this could take a whole chapter, so I’ll make a concise and simple question with essential details.
Is there a known issue (Stock Korea) with campaign and/or weather files, that provokes a fixed 25 fps in 3D, whatever the weather and workload are?
It’s something really particular, and it happens only with the line of one particular campaign save files we are doing MP. If I discard the mission, reload a weather map and relaunch it, it works fine. Only if I discard. Manually going to rampstart, loading weather and hitting take-off leads to 25 FPS.I already tried to enable or disable weathermapupdates, and use -BMS- Sunny map for exemple, no better result.
(Nvidia displays 25 FPS but I suspect it’s less).
I have strictly no other problem with other lines of campaign files and performance in general.
I’m writing this in red, because I’ll have to refer to it in my further replies, I guess, it will be easier.
I tend to stigmatize these campaign save files for whatever reason. fmap and twx erased, no difference.
If you are curious, you can download the save files here and test by yourself.

Thank you very much and have a bandit day

The problem is?
As I understood u want your fps to always be 25. Not more not less.
And that is not the case?
How exactly r u, or wanting to fix your fps in a constant rate and specific number?
Also why 25?
How did u come up with this number?
Also why more for example would be a problem?sent from my mi5 using Tapatalk

FPS is a bad result in comparison to the 50-75 or even more FPS I have in other situations. Constant 25 FPS is what is displayed when monitoring (and I suspect it’s even less). I don’t want it to be at 25 FPS

The 25 r while u r on the ground only or and during flight?

On the ground. In flight it’s slightly different. 30-35.
EDIT: I’m telling about fixed 25 because it almost doesn’t move from that. Even in exterior view, it’s exactly the same.

The known wow weight on wheels issue combined with the bad (heavy on gfx) weather. Since above weather u have just 10 more fps (or not?) I believe u need stronger - faster hw.

Hw?
EDIT: seen the red line text I suppose. Moreover, it’s exactly the same with sunny weather.
-
Yes. Have u? If with sunny u have the same…

Yes same. There’s something going on unrelated to graphic performances per se. What is hw, just to know ?
-
hw=HardWare.
-
Bit more info so far, still investigating.
This phenomenon only affects the host, or the single player running the mission.
Has anyone tried to download the files and test the mission?

What is The Known wow issue ???!

We talked about it from 4.32 when wheels are on the ground fps are low. The result was that the wow procedure in the code is heavy and might have a serious impact on the fps.
That’s what I remember.sent from my mi5 using Tapatalk

Also now I recall that the 3d pit ain’t that much optimized and is an additional fps eater in compination with wow effect.

Never heard about it and it makes absolutely no sense
Wow is a simple flag in code and the only consequence is on FLCS and a few avionics stuff that can not impact fps
Another urban legend I would say

Fix, workaround, not sure how to call it, but it can still inspire someone.
Using previous saves to collect these data:
The stuttering, to call it as it is, started to appear after a mission during which the home plate, Kangnung, was bombed. We landed in Sokcho and moved the squadron there with MC. From that point (next flight), the stuttering appears discreetly, the FPS tend to be fixed at some number from rampstart, and things seem to go worse as time progresses, until it becomes noticeable, then a pain.
Coming back to the mission during which Kangnung was bombed, restoring the results of missions we made afterwards and leaving our squadron in Kangnung, setting the date to next day 1500 as we had stopped, there is no stuttering at all.
I’m not sure what the weather had to do with it, but it appears that after a few minutes, stuttering and FPS fixing used to appear anyway.
In the end, all this can be linked to squadron relocation, but the reason is not clear to us (beyond “BMS can be touchy”). Anyway, we are glad to be able to be back on business.
Thanks for your attention, any idea about all that is still welcome.

Greetings again, guys.
We thought it was fixed, but it’s not… I got more material to think with maybe.
Here’s a 3 minutes video, showing how it is with the stuttering, and how it is without it as it magically disappeared for a minute.
We are three people experiencing exactly the same problem in SP with the same file. And it happens to the host during MP sessions. Only the host…
As you guess, flying an hour in these conditions is a no-no. I did it because everybody was connected and ready, but I wouldn’t have otherwise.
-
Watched it, but I can’t see or tell when the stuttering is happening. All I see is you moving your view around, there’s no way to tell when it’s stuttering??
Possibly record something while your taxing to see the ground movement which would surely show stuttering. Also, display your FPS.

Sorry Cloud9, it’s pretty clear to other people watching the video though. Maybe would you call it something else, but it’s very choppy in the beginning, very smooth at 25 seconds (I display my FPS at this point just to check) and comes back when I ask Gasman if he has connection issues as he rears his plane like a horse.
PS: you can try the files by the way, they’re to be uploaded in the original post. You’ll certainly experience the same thing as SP.
