-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated… Again!
-
Hello Johan! Great spot on the typo, thanks! It should be ver.3S if you’re using the single-monitor setup. The ver.2 lines on the profile are on pushed button states and don’t affect the profile in any way… two of them are on a 2x2pixel hidden button so I doubt if you’ll find them at all The third one is just a feedback image for pressing a button and can only be seen if you watch for it and keep your finger on the button. For the sake of my sanity though, I’ve fixed all three for future releases but like I said, it shouldn’t be an issue for the current release.
No call backs when I go into the CONTROLLERS. The MASTER ARM is not moving when I push on the screen anyway.
In summary, I see your panel on the second screen (touch screen), I see you gauges moving and alive, but pushing buttons gives nothing. I have installed all this under Windows 10. I plan to do an install from scratch on another PC running Windows 7 over the weekend. I will let you know the results.
Okay, I’m a bit confused here… does the MASTER ARM switch image move on the Helios profile? Does it move to the up/mid/down positions when you activate/flick it with your finger? If the MASTER ARM switch does move, then you’re fine. If it does NOT move, then you have a calibration issue with your touchscreen.
Now assuming that the MASTER ARM switch does move to the up/mid/down positions, take a look at this quick video:
If your MASTER ARM activation does not show up in BMS, make sure you follow #1 and #2 instruction on this blog post.

This should work on Win10AE… I’ve had issues with Win10CU and others have reported similar unreliable performance in CU. I suggest either a roll back to Win10AE or Win7. Maybe if any user here is on Win10CU, they can help you out with troubleshooting…

Hello Ice,
No, the MASTER ARM switch image doesn’t move at all on the Helios profile (like you show on this video). So yes, it might be a calibration issue, I will look closely again when I install on WIN 7.
I have followed instructions #1 and #2 and have respected my key location, which is not “X:\FalconBMS 4.33.3…etc” but “C:…etc.”
I will let you know, as I am eager to try your profile.
Thank you for all this work,Johan

Great! So it’s a calibration issue with your touchscreen. Have you done that? If so, and if you can open up Excel on your touchscreen, click on cell C5 and actually be able to select C5, then your calibration is good. However, Helios can be quite picky….
What is your main screen? What resolution? Are you using any zoom functions or have you increased text or font size? Bring them all back to defaults, 100%, and try again.

My main monitor is:
LG 34UC98-W 34" 21:9 Curved IPS
3440 x 1440 ResolutionMy touch screen is:
Dell 22 Touch Screen Monitor With Touch Capability | S2240T:
1920 x 1080 resolution.
It is placed to the left of the main at <-1920> on the x-axis
I am at work now, so I will try the Excel C5 trick tomorrow.
Thanks Ice, have a great weekend,Johan

Hello Ice,
Confirmed, installation is complete on my older WIN 7 system and everything works great on the touch screen. I think you are right, it’s probably a calibration issue. I will dig deeper into this one. WIN 10 doesn’t offer the same calibration process than WIN 7. The driver for the Dell touch screen is different too.
Thanks for all your help and for your amazing profile, and thanks to others who have been working on it as well.Johan

It does… maybe not for Win10CU, but it does for Win10AE.
Glad you’re enjoying the profile!

Hello Ice,
I just installed the new released YAME64 and it looks like the previous version of Ice1ScreenSetup.xml is not compatible anymore. Are there any simple changes to make through Notepad to make it work?
Thank you,Johan

I am having the same problem. I have verified that all of the files are in the correct location, windows 8,1 64 bit. So close to getting this to work!!

Note for people upgrading from 1.0/1.1
v1.1 or 1.0 config & layout files are unfortunately not compatible because too much has changed. We will try to keep it backwards compatible from now on…

you can install a previous release of yame64, or edit a new layout for 1.2.1 yame release.
-
Yes, and it does work well. It would be a TREMENDOUS help if some would put the 1.1 version on the www.yame64.com site. Other than an archived copy I had, there was no other 1.1 release available that I could find on the interweb.
Sorting out a few bindings, and learning about all the parts that get put together to make this all work. So far, about 90% is good, which is actually a new record for first time out-impressive.
What it does for immersion, for me, is amazing. Thanks to everyone that created or helped with the pieces, and to those that put them together to make this manageable (that would be you, ICE).
Off to scorch some clouds,

TrilYou can create a new layout and then assign the Ice parameters layout with a notepad.

Standby guys… working on a new version now.
-
Only the single-screen version for now. If there’s any demand for the two-screen version, please post here and I’ll do some more work on that version.
-
I finally get it all working, and you have to throw out something better, sigh.
I LIVE FOR BETTER!!!
Time to build a new box then!
Cheers

Ice - what are the up dates and fixed in the latest release ?
-
Should all be explained in the blog post, Ironman!
@Trilogysc - sorry bud!

@Ice
I am using your recent HELIOS/YAME One-screen setup, BTW excellent work…
I see that you have LUA scripts for the ‘set indicator’ and ‘set position’ bindings for the 2Toggle Landing Gear Handle,
but I noticed that the landing gear handle ‘red’ indicator light will not illuminate in-game when gear moves.
I can right-click the gear handle in HELIOS and get the ‘red’ indicator to toggle on-off, but no joy in-game.
Can you help in sorting this issue out ? -
It’s been that issue for a very, VERY long time. If you can figure it out, let me know!
Not exactly sure if it’s a Helios or a sharedmem issue… will have to work it out.
