[Android] Falcon ICP + DED (now on Google Play)
-
Awesome app for BMS , thanks mikej . Have it working flawlessly on an old discontinued Pandigital Planet 7 running Android 2.3.4 , my son was going to dump this tablet but thanks to you it now has a new home above my keyboard. Now need to find a new battery and charger for this tablet.

Any news getting this to run on newer devices/software? Android App crashes as soon as I do anything, even rotating from portrait to landscape causes it to crash.
-
An off-topic question,
how can I extract the info that the DED shows?
I have a 4-line character display that will display whatever text I want.thanks!
-
Hm, I’ve never done any falcon modding or tools, but I guess a look at the C header files might get you on your way.
Quick google search came up with this:Also do a search for “BMS for cockpit builders”.

Hiya, thanks for making a great App A fellow pilot in the 185th has recommended it and took me thru the procedure for settings etc… It was all set up fine, I started BMS 4.33 and the ICP/DED screen on my tablet started showing what was displayed on the BMS DED, working great… Until I pressed a button on the tablet… The app crashed on the tablet, on the PC is appears to be working fine, I tried relaunching the App several times on the Tablet and again it was showing exactly what was showing on the DED in BMS cockpit, until I pressed any commands on the tablet and the App crashed again (error Falcon ICP has stopped, open app again)
Any clues why this is happening? My tablet is an android (brand new running version 7)
Regards

Hi, I haven’t tested the app with Android 7. I’ll try to reproduce this issue and deliver a fix. Has anyone succeeded to run it on 7?

Now it’s crashing on my PC when I start Falcon ICP server…. Wahhhhhhh Get this error message
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\Andy\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9212.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
C:\Users\Andy\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9DD5.tmp.appcompat.txt

MY bad… It’s working fine on the PC, I had created a shortcut on the desktop and it didn’t like that, if I run Falcon ICP Server from the folder it’s in it works fine… Just the tablet to sort

Ummm… just tested on my tablet with Android 7,
App crashes as soon as you press a button. However trying to load a keyfile (default basic key file) in the server reports an invalid key at line 38
simoverheat? and doesn’t populate the keyfileHope this helps

Greetings.
Having same problem here with my S4.
Cannot get into Landscape( DED only) mode. Pressing any other key also causes the app to crash.
Kind regards. Jay. -
Hello again. Managed to get this app working at least in Landscape (DED only) mode which is what I wanted after all.
I’ve noticed some lag though. Somtimes it takes about a second, for the information in the app’s DED to change compared to the in-game cockpit DED.
The clock seconds in the DED also seem to be going up in 2s.
No big deal really and this app is so useful. Was wondering if this lag is normal.
Thanks. Regards J. -

My Samsung TabE just updated itself out of the blue yesterday. Now I’m having the issue described above… I’ve been running your app for almost a year with zero problems… thanks for any help in the matter.

Ive got the same problem. Any button press makes the App crash. DED is working though so its not a connection Issue. Great App nonetheless. A fix would be awesome

Hi all,
I’ve rewritten the app and now it’s available on Google Play. Enjoy The app works fine with the latest BMS. However, as I’m not up-to-date with BMS, let me know if the app is missing some features.
The latest version of the server app is required.

Mike, one small critique. There isn’t an IFF Button on the ICP to access the pages on the DED.
