[Release] Flying PAR/GCA approaches in BMS with vPAR/FSUIPCEmulator

Used Circle Plotter for that. Working Properly.

Here you have my sector and PAR parameters for YECHON (RKTY) and a Radar minimum chart for Yechon (Chart in progress)

Hi there !
Thanks Ahmed for this beautiful work but is it still working at this time ?I have also a problem when launching vPAR_Q, multiple windows are lauching and the message is “Abnormal program termination” do you know what can be the source ?
Thanks in advance -

Thanks in advanceFSUIPCEmulator should still work with latest BMS build as it just uses publicly exported shared data. About your error launching VPAR_Q, I just tried launching it on the latest W10 build and had no problems whatsoever… As I didn’t code that tool and the error you mention is quite generic, I’m afraid that I have no clue of what may be the reason Maybe somebody experienced and fixed that problem as well?

Thank you for your answer,
My problem is weird it’s true , maybe can you send me your VPAR_Q file to see if the problem comes from my computer ? -

Will you improve FSUIPCEmulator for other theatres ??
I am willing to create new sectors for other theatres

Hola Mario,
FSUIPCEmulator is just the tiny tool that allows you to use FSUIPC based addons in BMS (well, actually only vPAR so far, but I could make more stuff compatible if anybody were interested). What I think you mean is if I’m planning on defining other approaches/sectors for additional theaters in vPAR.
At the moment I’m not planing on defining more, but it is quite a simple task. You can easily define new approaches within the approach editor of the vPAR tool. If you want to create new sector files (i.e. the radar backgrounds for initial approach vectoring) you can check the included KUNSAN_APP.sct file for an example. The format for sector files in vPAR is the same one than ProController or IvAc1. You can find info about this format with a quick google search. If you go for it and have any questions feel free to drop me a pm.

Mmm I might be wrong, but…
FSUIPCEmulator converts x-y coordinates from falcon to Geographic coordinates and sends it … for KTO, (x=0 and y =0 means N 33º50.625’ and E 123º00’)
If I fly a different theatre , for example, Balkans, (x=0 and y=0 means N36º37.500’ E011º 000’) when I create a sector file for Balkans, with Falcon converted coordinates, Vpar receives the “KTO” coordinates (GEO) instead of the Balkans (GEO) coordinates because FSUIPCEmulator is converting the xy coordinates with the KTO algoritm and draws my aircraft far away of the information contained in the sector
Maybe I am not so good explaining myself but you should know about what I mean.
I think I could mitigate it creating an excel sheet that converts my Balkans GEO coordintaes to XY, then that XY to KTO GEO. But I have some doubt about the longitude conversion (Cos(LAT), etc…)
Thank you in advance.

I have used F4AWACS for conversion.
Plotted the points in Balkans, exported the areas. Then switch to KTO, Import, and copy the “new” coordinates. Put it in a SCT file. Profit!

You are absolutely right, I didn’t even remember how I was doing that conversion! (haven’t used this in a long while :p)
I’ll take a look at the option of reading the origin coordinates depending on the theater.

I would love to use the emulator as way to connect my streaming overlay. Currently i have s overlay on my streams for Prepar3d which it connects via FSUIPC and works great showing my current speed, alt, and so on. the creator of the overlay says it should connect to any FSUIPC emulator. Any idea how to get this to work together?

FSIPCEmulator could emulate as many FSUIPC offsets as the BMS shared data allows. However, I only coded the required offsets needed to make vPAR work. It was my idea to upload it as open source for whoever wants to add more offsets to do so, but I never got a reply for the FSUIPC developer consenting this. I will e-mail him again and see what he says.
The program is very simple anyway and if you are interested you could probably write your own from scratch taking a look at the FSUIPC SDK in a matter of minutes.

Ahmed,
Thank you for your work on this great tool.
I’ve modified the KUNSAN_TWR.sct file for the ASDE screen to show more detail. Hopefully this helps others for doing ground traffic stuff. It’s not perfect but close enough for you to know where the planes are on the base.

It is such a great software. I just happen to discover lately.
Is there a way to develop it further?
Or is there a way to contact software developer? -
Gca comms on video 2 are missed. But it is same app from video 1
