Israel 1980s - UOAF edition

wow a tank battalion got that got close to ramat that fast… Lots of work needs to be done to game balance.
-
Thanks for the feedback guys, please keep it coming, anything that is posted here will go into our Trello board with a teal “community feedback” label and be prioritized over other “to do” items.
-
Looks intresting. Is there early block Netz before updates?
-
the 1980/1982 campaign uses the block 15 Netz that came with ITO
-
So avionics are from 90’s. Well maybe in future we have chance to fly early Vipers.
-
Started this project less than a month ago. So… no, unfortunately we didn’t code new avionics into the sim.

They are configured to use legacy HUD, gun sights and monochrome MFDs. It’s not possible to create new avionics in BMS without source code And that’s not available unfortunately.
-
In fairness, developing new avionics (or old avionics ) including the old-style “MFD”-panel from the F-16A/B is something that should be developed as a BMS-platform add-on instead. Hopefully, the BMS team will want to also support legacy F-16A/B models in future BMS releases. It’s a bit much to ask from a Theater development group I think
-
hey I agree, having this pit would be cool as shit. If there is a 3d modeler out there who can do it please by all means contact us
otherwise, advanced 3d modeling and coding is far outside of Nighthawk/Foxy/my capabilities. We’re just sim pilots like you who want 80’s action
no one else was doing it so we said to hell with it and made the database ourselves.
And that’s all you need fundamentally. Take away Amraams, Harms, and smart bombs and the way things play out radically changes. Now you’re NOE lofting dumb bombs and getting into knife fight furballs. -
Funny thing is Gza036, I looked at the map afterwards…And there was NO enemy around…it was all blue icons
-
you mean you joined Syria’s side and looked? Otherwise they could have just been hidden from Blue-side’s view
-
Oh ok, No, i didn’t join other side……I just figured when a aircraft passes over or around an enemy ground unit it shows up on map. your probably correct tho…it wasn’t seen

?
I cannot remember any campaign where you could lost. Last time I lost a campaign was in SP3 ere when I was soo noob that I was downed almost in every mission. -
our campaign game balance. Israel is on the defensive when they are the ones who should be attacking. Gonna work on it.
-
Is anyone hosting the 1988 campaign online?
-

No, dont get me wrong. I’m just hoping. Keep on good work.

“Event Panther12 downed by Hezbollah4 SA-9 at 06:35:14”
Bizarre. Nighthawk says he deleted all Hezbollah battalions. I just checked with MC and there are none.
Then I looked at the default ITO campaign. There are 8 Hezbollah battalions and none of them have SA-9.
See if you or anyone else can replicate this.
and please use ACMI when you test -
This Syrian SU-22 seems to have a tiny skin problem
(It has Syrian markings on one side and Russian markings on the other)
-
I’m also having a play with the 1988 Egypt campaign and I suddenly noticed Egyptian M1A1 units. 1988 struck me as a bit early for them?
According to “The M1A1 Abrams Tank in Egypt” by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas O. Begasse (US Army Chief of the M1A1 Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT), Cairo, Egypt) and Major David E. Sparrow (US Army Materiel Management Officer for the M1A1 Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT), Cairo, Egypt):
The United States supports the Arab Republic of Egypt with financial aid and security
assistance. One of the largest efforts in the U.S. security assistance arena is the co-production and
fielding of the M1A1 Abrams, the U.S. Army’s main battle tank, by the Egyptian Land Forces
(ELF).
Along with the co-production of 524 MlAl’s, is the fielding, New Equipment Training
(NET), and follow-on support for the Egyptian Army. This is the mission of the U.S. Army
M1A1 Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT). The M1A1 TAFT was originally set up in 1989
to assist the Egyptian Land Forces in preparing for the introduction of the tank into their combat
units. Once fielding began in June 1993, the team was expanded to eleven members to provide
hands-on technical assistance. So, according to this document, the Egyptian front line units did not started to field the M1A1 until 1993?

hahaha what the hell…. I’ll look into the Su-22
It has a default ITO skinand yes, we need to remove all the egyptian abrams! Ground forces are nowhere near complete.
“Even though the Egyptian military became oriented toward the West after the October 1973 War, it still had large amounts of Soviet equipment in its arms inventory. As of 1989, an estimated five of the twelve divisions and portions of other units had made the transition to American equipment and order of battle. The stock of main battle tanks consisted of 785 M60A3s from the United States, together with more than 1,600 Soviet-made T-54, T-55, and T-62 models. Some of these older Soviet tanks were being refitted in the West with 105mm guns, diesel engines, fire-control systems, and external armor. Armored personnel carriers (APCs) consisted of 1,000 M-113A2s from the United States, more than 1,000 BTR-50s and OT-62s from the Soviet Union, and about 200 Fahds, which were manufactured in Egypt based on a design from the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). The army also had more than 700 infantry combat vehicles that were manufactured by the Soviet Union and Spain. Egypt also launched a program to increase the mobility of artillery and rockets by mounting them on the chassis of tanks and APCs.”
