Israel 1980s - UOAF edition

I can take a look at it, skinning for this sim is ULTRA tedious… I really hate it. lol. Sometimes the texture is stretched over the 3d model or even inverted on the older models, making lining things up virtually impossible. Then there’s the workflow… make a change to the texture in photoshop, save, load 3d model in mission commander, try to figure out what’s wrong… back to photoshop again, repeat. Wouldn’t it be great to paint directly onto the 3d model…
-
Look at that model though… very nice! Thanks again Manos!
One thing is that some stores (shrike and STARMS) have an “extra” pylon on the missile, I’m not sure how to fix it. -

That would be awesome! But my 3ds Max crashes whenever i try do it. There is a mode in Max you can do it directly in the 3d model and that is saved i believe afterwards to the UV map as a file but for some reason my max crashing. I tried to do it in Jas-39 i making with no luck.
As i said the problem with the model is the uv mapping. The uv map is for FS2009 and therefore is completely wrong, i decide it to keep it as is cause of time consuming progress of new uv maping. New UV map u have to be very patient and get even triangle to triangle maps on the model witch is nervebraking progress. Therefore i never giving up it might be possibe after i finish mine F-4 to do the same in the high-poly models as i will have the knowledge and i believe the progress will be faster. For the Shrike missile i think they where using an extra plylon anyway… here is an F-4G:
https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/f-4/pages/df-st-85-02612.shtmlOthere than that you need also a rotated alq-119 or (as the dat file is allready fixed to use the pylon i have in USAF version zip) to use the pylon i made but this needs a dance through the bmsrack.cfg
-
oh wow the shrike and AGM-78 do use the extra pylon, very nice
-

I correct my self there isn’t any model in current ITO 80s, Cloud dont push me I think i have it somewhere in the loads of 3d models from back then either that or the ccc version on the package he had released couple years ago
-
Hmm yes there is a Kfir in ITO80’s, ccc gave it to us.
It doesn’t have a pit so I wouldn’t fly it, but it’s there. -
yes these’s a kfir in ITO 80. it’s quite old, the latest one is kfir 17-0426.zip.
Let’s wait Manos’ new Kfir!
BTW to fly old kfir, the best 3d pit to use is A10 3d pit.
and, happen to find this page with some performance charts…

In the thread i allready said that ill change eventually the exaust to a more aimple one it will save me a lot. Probably will be the one my new phantom uses.

Accurate Egyptian serials is a level of detail that I am really not worried about. haha you’re on your own there.
The IAF skin looks great!I could probably get those
At least for the F110-100 powered ones as I’m the GE rep for them
(oops you were talking F4’s I guess, all the J79 birds are retired so that would be an issue)

Yep, corrected as I didn’t get the first part of the discussion. Can’t do much for you on F4’s. Only a few dozen cans of J79’s laying at a few locations and all TAC’d out.

Yeah i found a font with the egyptian numbers i also found a complete list of all the frames Egypt had with both US and EAF serials but adding the EAF serials as well in the nose means mor triangles for the model and as is right now its allready too much so probably i will skip that part

Has anyone else had troubles with SA-2s tracking through terrain? I just got blown up by an SA-2 when I was well out of line of sight of the Fan Song. Checked the ACMI to confirm and I was definitely terrain masked and the missile just kept guiding.

Yeah that’s just a bms problem, in my experience. Sometimes terrain works, sometimes it doesn’t.

new 80’s tail art for Vipers
Pictured here, Netz 107
It has more kills than any other F-16 in the world: 6.5
It also struck the Iraqi nuclear reactor in Operation Opera -
KC-707
not bad, minus the turbojets
-
also fixed up the F-4 texture
