Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
-
Hi there,
I am still having problems assigning the POV on the TQS to zoom in and out.
The assignment shows up below the main screen, but I can’t see the bindings in the key mapping screen.
Is there anything to solve this issue?
Zooming in and out with the mousewheel is rather annoying.

TQS … Do you mean HOTAS WARTHOG THROTTLE or something else?

Throttle Quadrant System
yeap that’s how they call it the short way.
Everything in AF must have an abbreviation… everything.
By AF I mean AirForce… cause I saw you got started… so settle back… Not u chihirobelmo in general… -
I know what TQS means Throttle Quadrant System as I already wrote so on the label of the app.
I could not guess what exact device ApeX89 is using so I asked. -
Jup, it was the Throttle Quadrant System
I should’ve pointed that out.

I am still having problems assigning the POV on the TQS to zoom in and out.
There is no POV on F-16 TQS.
There is no POV on any callbacks that relates to F-16 TQS in BMS. POV is what can be on actual joystick devices.
There is no joystick Device that has POV and named TQS. Saitek Throttle Quadrant System is the only device I know possibly called TQS but has no POV.
You can not assign the POV on the TQS. So If what called “TQS” in your post does not mean any actual joystick or something else I have no idea what you mean. -
Hey there,
sorry, my bad. I was actually referring to the Coolie Switch on the Throttle of my Warthog, which I can not assign to work for zooming in and out in 3D.

Great app, though i dont really understand how to use the modifier here. I got X-55 pinky switch as DX shift (registered as DX 5 under the stick tab), then i enable keycombo/pinkyshift option and bound all my CMS with my unshited DMS buttons. Flew the instant action, DMS works fine, pressed the pinky shift, it goes into CMS but it wont function back to DMS normally even if i pressed pinkyshift because i was under the assumption that its a toggle button and not press and hold.
-
Assign both DX3 and shifted DX3 to pinky shift. Shifted DX3 will switch back you to unshifted layer.
PinkShift is “press and hold” button but also becomes a toggle button when you did not invoke any shifted DX assignment. (ie: you press DX3 and release it without pressing any other DX).
This is known glitch for BMS long time no fix. -
Arigatou Chihiro-san, im very grateful.

First off, thank you for putting so much work into this amazing tool!
I am struggling to get your launcher to recognize an existing custom keyfile. I’m starting with a clean BMS install, and no matter what profile I select and apply in game, the launcher defaults to “BMS - Full”. Is this normal behavior?
I also tried renaming my keyfile “BMS - Full” in case the launcher is just looking for a file by that name. But unfortunately even with this approach, my keybindings are not the ones that the launcher shows for “BMS - Full”. Is there a way to load and modify an existing keyfile?

This is the way the app works. The app will overwrite and select BMS - FULL.key file no matter what keyfile you have choosen as your profile.

That is strange. Can you upload your “BMS - FULL.key”?
-
Ok, good to know it defaults to “BMS - Full”. Here is a link to the keyfile that I can’t get recognized inside the launcher-

@tryanc did you erased .XML files saved in User/Config folder? The app reads .XML if there were instead of making joystick profile from BMS - FULL.key file on purpose.
-
Ok I ended up doing another clean install of BMS. Starting with the default keyfile and editing with your launcher is working. I don’t think I deleted any XML files previously, but it does seem like I messed something up when was trying to replace ‘BMS - Full’ with my custom keyfile. Things seem to be sorted out now. Thanks again!

Hi guys,
I’ve had a quick browse through but cant see a solution to my problem.
So I would like to migrate my BMS program (with Alternate Launcher) to my second SSD. I copied and pasted it in and all looked well. When I go to launch however I had the error: Could not locate file C:BMS…… Full.key. No problem I thought, I just put a copy of the key file back in my C drive. This seemed to work until I came to launch the game, where I don’t get any error codes any more, just nothing happens when I click launch.
It seems the program is still looking for files on my C drive when I’ve copied them all over to my G drive. Is there any way of telling the program that they have moved?

U must edit the registry for this. Which is not advisable or the correct way, or better the official way.
The official way is to re install.
In the manual says which files to copy in such cases.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

I just downloaded the BMS launch v1.08 and it looks very good - and I know exactly the problem with the switching USB / DX devices as I often unplug/replug my Cougar and Logitech DFGT and Logitech RumblePad and it really messes up BMS.
However, how do I get the launcher to read in my BMS - Full.Key file? I’ve edited the default BMS - Full.Key file to add my DX-bindings.
But when I start the launcher and go into key bindings, I see nothing being mapped to any of the Cougar? I rather not want to re-do all my mappings in the launcher tool again if I can help it.
I read something about the launcher reading in the default key file when it cannot find the joystick XML file(s)? I’ve tried removing the XML files in the x86 directory where the replacement HUB.EXE is located but I still cannot see any of my DirectX bindings in the launcher? -
OK so no import function then. So I made a coffee and decided to redo my Cougar setup in the launcher then.
However, I now run into the issue that I cannot replicate my DX Keyfile Setup?
For instance, in my key file setup I’m using S3 as both the Pinky Switch AND as the Shift button to activate other functions.
If I press the S3 by itself, it acts as the Pinky switch, if I combine it with any other key, it activates the shifted layer in my DX setup. How do I replicate this here? I cannot seem to get it to accept this “double function” - and as such I cannot get my trim functions to be the Shifted HAT1 functions?
I’m sure I’m missing something here? Any help would be much appreciated.
