Somalia Theatre ?

RPG-7 can be tweeked to become very shitty manpad
–----------
I can remmember you are using tweeked AN-2 FM for helis too (mentioned in some not so old post).
What did you tweak ccc? Maximum speed or something about superflaps?Well, RPG better be a slower AA ammo, low fire rate, and no guidance. And many bad guys have it in the towns…i remember nove has nice models for RPG shooters.
As for chopper FM, I forget what I did… But I prefer using av8 AFM for them.
.

Yep just add in proper sounds , and set av8 fm in 90 degree nozzle mode. I would make a copy for player use only maybe, in case ai has trouble.
-
So who exactly are the belligerents in this theater
-
On the Red Side, the primary belligerent is Somalia on the ground and air. The secondary Yemen who provides air support. On the Blue Side, NATO is using Ethiopia as a staging ground for some air forces along with all of their ground forces. The US Navy also provides air support using an aircraft carrier in the Gulf of Aden. The US/NATO has superior quantity of aircraft/ground, circa 1997. The Red Forces have the superior numbers in aircraft. ground equipment, SAM, AAA. Much of their equipment, particularly ground forces and the Somalia Air Force date to the 1960/70s. Yemen’s equipment is a little more modern with some aircraft circa 1990s.
-
All these sound interesting… can’t wait to give this theater a closer look, or even a deep-in test, in case you devs. will like to allow me to.

More Somalia beta action.

As folks can see from Ripper’s video, Operation Star (Save0.cam) is completed. We are now working on the Ogden War. A classic 1960s era old school knife fight in the air and ground.
-
That could be fun in F4’s
-
I like to see the big tomcat walking around the new theatres being made, in a nice new pit. that RDC speed hud demon has to be slayed. tomcat is my all time favorite jet.

Update on Save2.cam, the Ogden War. Here is the initial campaign map at the beginning of the war:
Here is the same 2D image after running the campaign on 16x using HQ for PAK and mission goals:
As you can victory has been achieved in the ground war.
A great majority of ground units in Somalia are tanks with some motorized (wheeled) units. Conventional infantry is dug in to defend high value targets. But otherwise, they do not participate in the overall operations of capturing objectives. This is due to its very slow (6 MPH) normal speed. By using only tracked vehicle battalions, the ground war can move very quickly. Just like the Nordic Theatre, the movement penalties between objectives are very minimal in the wide open plains. Also, tanks are the only units that can capture objectives. Wheeled vehicles are able to hold objectives, but on their own, they are unable to take objectives for opposing forces.

RDC SPEED blink, blink, blink… Has fix in flight adjustment.
Char0093:
It’s a bit of a Weird One for sure. But it Has a Fix! the default Config, Press ALT+F9 And CTRL+F9. These Callbacks are for CKPIT: LEFS - Set To Null and CKPIT: Flaps - Set To Null. This Combination will clear the message. It was a little different for my set up, but adjusting LEFs apparently does the trick.
Nice vid btw. -

You learned well……;)
But can we explain it for others???
(I’m referring to the collective “Move Speed” of a unit)demer

Yes, Dave I should point that out. In all versions of Falcon 4, the entire Brigade operates that the slowest speed of an individual unit. Thus you can have a full battalion of tracked, and wheeled vehicles with one foot infantry unit. When you run the campaign, that entire brigade will move at 6 mph/10 km/h. Thus when I create moving battalions and brigades, I never use foot infantry.

Thus when I create moving battalions and brigades
Just like real life!
Brigades don’t move!
