      Gentlemen on behalf of myself, Eddropper and the entire BMS Mafia Team, we are proud to release Vietnam Theatre for BMS 4.36. I want to give a big thanks to Demer928 who is the original author of this amazing theatre and who has always given me permission to continue developing his masterpiece. Big thanks to Drtbkj for him and his Mafia Team’s contributions to this release. A huge hats off to Ed for all the work he did with me getting Vietnam moving forward in many ways. including his Universal Database that has allowed the use of scores of aircraft in this theatre. Big thanks to CCC, Ranger, Mike Rivers, Thoarek, and many other unknown contributors to the database.

      On a final note, BMS’ DB is really not suited for older aircraft theatres. In the original version of Vietnam for BMS 4.35, many users here will remember how bland the original campaigns were. In this release, I wanted to make sure I did not repeat such an initial release. All of us should really gibe a big thanks to CCC who spent countless hours converting his older aircraft models for the DB. Also, I wanted to give Ranger an equally big thank you for his work perfecting the DB. It was only through the hard work of these two gentlemen along with coordination with from Eddroppper, I was able to finally release Vietnam the way I wanted.

      Update, thanks to the Mafia Team for the Nevada update to 1.3. Please remove all previous versions of Nevada and install this version as a new install. here’s the readme from the Mafia team:

Ed spend quite some time replacing the original tiles with newer, better tiles found in Somalia, which were hand made by EGHI. Also, his Universal Database has allowed the use of scores of aircraft in this theatre. Big thanks to CCC, Mike Rivers, Thoarek, and many other unknown contributors to the database. On a final note, though the campaigns seem unchanged, both Ed and I have put a lot of effort in modifying the units they relate to the overall war. You should see improved FPS. Also, by modifying the air units, users should find the campaigns challenging, but not impossible to fly and win.

I want to give a big thanks to Drtbkj for him and his Mafia Team’s contributions to this release. A huge hats off to Ed for all the work he did with me getting Korea 2012 moving forward in many ways. Also, his Universal Database has allowed the use of scores of aircraft in this theatre. Big thanks to CCC, Mike Rivers, Thoarek, and many other unknown contributors to the database. On a final note, due to BMS’ changes to Korea, we were unable to convert Korea 2012’s original campaigns. Thus, I have made new edits to BMS’ default campaigns in order to make Korea 2012 just as wonderful as the version in 4.36. Though the campaigns are similar, I wasn’t able to make them exactly the same as the previous versions.

Ed spend quite some time replacing the original tiles with newer, better tiles found in default BMS 4.36 Korea. Also, his Universal Database has allowed the use of scores of aircraft in this theatre. Big thanks to CCC, Mike Rivers, Thoarek, Obi1 and many other unknown contributors to the database. On a final note, though the campaigns seem unchanged, I have put a lot of effort in modifying the underlying terrain structure as it relates to campaigns. Ground units should move smoother across the map.

      In this release, the campaigns have been modified over the originals in the 4.35 release. While not 100% historically correct, these changes allow the campaign to be challenging without being impossible to fly for pilots of every skill level.

      I just want to give everybody an update on Vietnam. I have finished my Save3.cam file. This is the third campaign file, the one right below the fall of Saigon. I have named it Uncle Ho. At the moment, the campaign is in beta testing. It is a modern campaign based on the year 2020 as the world is gripped by the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic. Asian backed military units are invading from Thailand in an attempt to carve out a Democratic Republic of Vietnam centred around Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon). US Forces provide air support with carriers and land aircraft based in airfields in Thailand. The ROK and RAAF provide air assets in South East Thailand as well. In this campaign, Laos and Cambodia have both been conquered by the NVA after their respective Governments have collapsed.

      While Uncle Ho is in beta testing, I am finishing up a second modern campaign call Phoenix Rising. In this campaign, the year is 2022 and Hanoi’s Government is near collapse due to food riots and fuel scarcity. Asian troops have enter Cambodia and Laos and liberated some of the terrain for a new Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The ground forces goal is capture the remainder of old 1960s Southern Vietnam. This campaign is more difficult than Uncle Ho and will take longer to complete. Expect to see many more pitched battles in the hills and coastal cities between the free forces and NVA.

      @rookieskyworker Korea 2012 is really just KTO with different A/C and a unique DB for adding aircraft. The core campaign’s objectives, terrain etc are unchanged.

      @Kevstosmart Many aircraft are flyable, when the next update comes out with my finished campaigns, there will be three 1960s’ era campaigns with flyable aircraft like the F-4, F-111, F-8, A-4, and a modern campaign with flyable aircraft like the F-15E, F-16, F/A-18, F-35.

      Or maybe something in my settings ?

      Yes, you won the campaign. You have to remember, many of these campaigns are still a WIP and aren’t as polished as Israel or Korea. We are slowly taking care of issues and it takes time. As for your lighting issue, I believe that is with BMS. Somalia is just a land change, weather, clouds etc are all untouched from BMS’ core files.

      Noticed the light switches in pit not right and of course the defense vehicles lined across the runway.
      Managed to avoid them on both take off and landing .
      End mission,trying to move both units in the city there.
      Havent checked or flown again yet to see if they moved off base .
      Just things i saw in the first mission.
