Cant install from my F4 cd's
-
Trying to reinstall F4 after a hard drive failure, I have 2 copy’s of F4, one original from 98 and another a few years younger. Cant get eather of them to install. as close I can get the menu appears asking to install then nothing happens or even don’t get that far, eject the disc then try again, asks what I want to do, click click install nothing. Is this a windows 10 problem? is my cd drive dying ? or are both my discs finally dead ? anyone else have this problem?
FIXED AND SORTED, CHEERS.

Hi!
Maybe you could give a try to this (or similar) : https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/entry.php?3436-How-to-install-Falcon4-0-on-Windows10

Cheers, will try it out. Worked before. Hope its not broken from a windows 10 update.
Have already tried the compatibility thing. -
No luck, has always worked before. Has anyone installed from a CD lately ?
I reboot my PC , put in CD , asks what to do , click the F4 icon , install options window opens , click install , window disappears , CD rom light flashes for a bit as it reads disc , then stops, that’s it. nothing.
If I then eject CD then close again, asks what to do with CD in drive click open, then click on the F4 icon then nothing. the install options window doesn’t open like it did on the first try.
Looks like windows 10 has killed F4? -
Have you tried the minimum install? The Original F4 wont run with the minimum install, but will allow BMS to install and run. IIRC this is how I had to do it w/ my original disk from '98.
Not sure if it will, but HTH.
BTW, did you run the compatibility mode with Win7?

Got it working. Had to install in safe mode. Cheers for that.
All so had to clean the registry from my old install I lost from my old hard drive shitting its self. Cheers to Shadow for his registry cleaning program, To install all the patches.
Also had to check the box in the compatibility tab (Disable fullscreen optimizations) to get of the low res graphics and run 1920x1080.
Just have to set up my wharthog and MFD’s and good to go.
I wonder if I had cleaned the registry first off that I may have been able to install from my CD first try?Cheers and thanks for the help!!

Pretty sure you are correct. Sounds like the root of your problem.
