Set up for X52 Pro and Falcon 4 BMS 4.33.1 U5

…. The directX mini stick is applied in Windows. I also have the mini stick chosen in BMS under avionics control for radar range and etc. (it’s the 1st and 3rd option) and when I move the ministick, the bars go up and down. It is something preventing the cursor moving in flight? ……
That is the critical bit. If that works in the UI, it should work in game.
OK, dumb question (sorry) …. when you try moving the cursor in-game, are you in the air? Radar won’t slew on the ground.
Edit,
BTW, I believe the ‘y’ cursor needs to be marked reversed in the UI. Not relevant to the problem above, but once you get it working, it’ll matter.
-
I just running the practice landings and testing the radar cursor there. I’ll check the y cursor and see if it helps.

Ok, as long as you have weight off wheels.
I don’t recall for sure, but I think the FCR has to be Sensor of Interest (SOI) to slew (pretty sure). You can tell which sensor is sensor of interest because the MFD will be outlined. Change SOI with DMS Down.
You also said, “There is an icon in the MFD on the left side that moves up and down if I move the stick (I think left and right) but the cursor stays in the center.” What is it? Can you take a picture pointing it out or post a vid?

I’m starting to wonder if I should go back and apply the latest drivers for the stick. Logitech’s where something like 8.x.x.x where Saitek Win 10 defaults is at 6.2.2.0 dated 2/15/2008. I did remove the drivers just in case but maybe they are needed?
The reverse option for Y didn’t do anything so I’ll explain in more detail. When I perform the quick landing mission, I’m in the air. So here I test my MDF cursor. On the bottom is a T Symbol moving left and right. On the left side is the same T just turned in a different way. When the mini stick is moved left to right, it goes up and down. The two sets of numbers next to the cursor also changes values, but the cursor does not move. This is why I was wondering if my drivers should be updated or if there is a preferred drivers version I need to update to.

You have the mini-stick mapped to radar elevation.
The T on the side is the elevation scan. The numbers next the radar cursor is the min and max elevation your radar will scan. The radar elevation is (usually) an axis moved to ‘look’ at the altitudes you want to scan.
Check the UI and make sure the axis assignments are correct. Usually:
- Large Knob = range knob/Man Range
- Small Knob = Radar Elevation
- Mini-Stick = Radar x & y
- Slider = user preference; in my profile FOV.
Give me a couple of minutes and I’ll get screen shots.

Under the BMS SETUP -> ADVANCED -> AVIONICS

Works now. We’re getting closer lol.
I noticed in the picture it had rotary 1 in radar antenna elevation. I think I had rotary 1 assigned to the rudder. I suppose I can find a use for that somewhere else.
BTW, there isn’t a way to have the SST software stay, if I want to use it for Elite Dangerous and not have Falcon use it such as long as I don’t use a profile or will that mess up the pinkie shift function?
-
This may be more a minor inconvenience I hope to also work out. When the cursor in the MFD moves, the one in the game also moves so there is a potential issue where the game cursor moves over the number pad and that gets clicked on (when the cursor changes color to yellow instead of what’s in the MFD. I need to further test an actual ground target to see if those are clickable, however.

99% of the time you don’t need a rudder in the F-16. FLCS handles it for you. You won’t miss the 1%. I’ve flown without an active rudder command for a few years, no problem.
Yes, you can still have an Elite Dangerous (or whatever) .pr0 file. When you load BMS just don’t load a profile (or clear an already loaded profile). You should be able to do that (load/clear an SST profile) by right-clicking the sys tray Saitek icon (lower right in windows; by the clock).

What about the in game cursor moving when the mfd cursor moves. Or does that happen to everyone?

No, the game cursor should be linked to the mouse only (at least in my experience).
Do you have any of the Advanced Setup axes assigned to the mouse?
-
In the device manager, I disabled programmable support for mouse. Which is fine as long as I remember to re-enable it when I play other titles with the SST software. With or without the SST software installed and when this was enabled, the mini mouse was acting like a second windows mouse.
It works. It’s just something I have to remember to do unfortunately unless there is another way around it. Next test is selecting A-G targets and making sure that works. TMS Up to lock on and TMS Down to unlock. Can’t imagine what anyone uses the small button next to the mini stick for.

Cursor Enable/Cursor Zero
Cursor enable selects Pre/Bore/Vis modes, or Bore from Slave for AA. Cursor Zero cancels SPI deltas from cursor slewing.

Hey, Gamer, did you ever get this sorted?
