X52 DirectX Pinky Shift not working

Yeah, that’s where I was going. But I don’t know of any way to have both the cursor slewing AND retain the ‘mousing’ behaviour directly in BMS (I can imagine how to do it in SST).
Do post a pic …. first guess is that the ‘missing’ Y axis is assigned somewhere else. Once an axis is assigned, it’s no longer available in the drop down in the BMS UI.
Well that’s puzzling…I know there’s folks here that use the mini stick for radar that also use something for the clickable cockpit…do you all use another hat or something? Ideally, I’d like to be able to mirror my DCS setup where I use the shifted mini stick as a cockpit cursor and unshifted use it for another function.
And the y axis thing, I’ll post my pics for it later.
Thanks for the replies and the help!

Hey so here is what I’ve got:
Two issues I’d like some help with:
Of course the radar cursor thing. If I deactivate the twist rudder by setting it to keyboard, how can I then get functionality with the mini stick? I’ve tried some things but have had no luck.
Second is the antenna range knob - I have both the antenna elevation and radar range functions mapped to both of the throttle rotary wheel/knobs in the BMS controller advanced page, but in game I only have elevation active. In the setup page, I am able to test the wheels with the correct response (on the screen blue bar thingy) being shown.
Thanks again for your patience and help guys

Ok, the problem here is that Windows only recognizes 8 axes on a device. Whether or not you set the rudder to ‘keyboard’ it is still an axis on the device.
What you have to do is make a registry change so that the rudder is removed and the mini-stick is added (or, the rudder is moved to axis #9 and the mini-stick is added as one of the first 8 axes).
To do that, please see this post: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?11428-how-to-set-the-mouse-on-throttle-to-work&p=151158&viewfull=1#post151158

Man range is NOT radar range. It actually adjusts the level of zoom on the TGP. The name ‘Man Range’ is a holdover from some long dead functionality. I think Frederf described the etymology in a post somewhere.

Roger on both
Question regarding changing the registry - will this affect the other programs that use my X52 (DCS, FSX, etc)? Windows Registry changes sounds pretty serious ha

Great question. I don’t know the answer, but I think you’re right that this change is at the device leve and would be universal.
In that case, it should be easy to swap back and forth as needed, but it is an additional consideration.

I’m just gonna go with what I have. I can use the rdr cursor with my SST and I’ve gained the shifting function that I had missed. So, thanks a bunch fellas!
