Cougar programming help please

You saved all your work on your nice keyfile though right? Because if you do anything to it in setup it erases all the wording in your DX file and can bugger it up. You should set up your MFD’s in the keyfile like everything else not in BMS UI setup. Don’t touch BMS UI setup for key mapping.
-
Yeah I missed that, cant say the warning is not there, I see it now.

TM MFD Cougar mappings, left and right MFD.
This assumes that you have plugged in the Hotas Cougar as
your 1st DX device in Windows, and the MFDs as 2nd (left)
and 3rd (right) device.
The 1st DX device buttons will be 0 to 31,
the 2nd DX device buttons will be 32 to 63,
the 3rd DX device buttons will be 64 to 91,
…and so on, each DX device starts +32.
If you use other devices, simply do the math for moving the
button numbers around.

Next problem is how can I force Windoze to see my devices in the order the DX MFD key file wants…Cougar, MFD1, MFD2
Right now it sees the Rudders first, then MFDs then Cougar and I cant seem to alter that order
-
It’s vice versa.
You have to tell BMS the correct order via DeviceSorting.txt in Config folder.Btw., I’ve not read the entire thread in case answers are still missing.

Bloody hell Mower do you want me to pop round your place and read the manuals to you?
Technical Manual page 14 - DeviceSorting.txt in your \Falcon BMS 4.34\User\Config folder.
If you already have a DeviceSorting.txt in there then just move the lines/devices into the order you want.
-
I was about to ask the same question too.
-
Maybe you should fly over; you’ll know the answers to his questions without having to resort to looking at the manuals you wrote :plane:

Sure why not, bring some beer and I will fire up my BBQ…

Ok yes that was the issue and the MFDs are properly seen in DX by BMS.
SIGH…a victim of my lack of RTFM.
-
All sorted then now? Sorry, I couldn’t resist
I don’t think it makes any difference what order the keyfile is in (I’m sure Kolbe will correct me if I’m wrong). I’ve just added the new stuff at the end of my keyfile during 4.34 development, so it might not be pretty but I still manage to get off the ground.
-
Does anyone have an idea how to map TIR pause (default F9 key) to DX mapping?
-
Nope, but I’d like to know how to do VAC PTT, but I don’t think a callback exists yet for either.

Click on the Voice Activated Commands part of my signature to see how I did it using Foxy (if you haven’t already).
-
Thanks man, but I wasn’t clear that I was talking about putting it in the keyfile without Foxy. I would like to see a DX callback for VAC PTT and Teamspeak/Discord.
-
I use Voice Attack so I guess I can TIR Pause with that easily enough…

Old man,
have your sorted it out now or do you need some more help? What about another thread? :uham:
