OpenTrack, does BMS work with it?
-
Thanks!

Yep, works great. I use Opentrack and Trackhat together. Much cheaper than a TIR

It does but what type of tracking solution are you using with opentrack?

Thinking of Trackhat

I use Delanclip, and find it fantastic. Happy to share a profile, but i don’t know how it would work with trackhat. You would have to modify point tracker settings.

Thinking of Trackhat
I got the http://www.trackhat.org/trackhat-clip-plus - don’t have a bad word to say about it.
I suppose the only negative for the solution is that you have to get the PS3 eye toy drivers from https://codelaboratories.com/products/eye/driver/ - they cost $2.99.

I use opentrack on Linux and BMS runs fine with it (also a delanclip user). On the win7 side I’m using FaceTrackNoIR atm which also works great.
All the best,
Uwe

Opentrack with EDTracker here. Never going back to TIR.
-
Opentrack works great with BMS. I use a delan clip strapped to my headphones. Highly recommended.
-
Opentrack with a DIY 3xIR cap and modified PS3 eye.
It’s amazing but sometimes I wish I could just test stuff out with mouselook without having to plug in and put my cap in every time

No my point is why no TIR? Still the best around for resolution and smoothness. Trouble is, its way overpriced.
-
Yes, I agree, a lot overstated.:lock1:
-
No, its not the best around - EDTracker is.

The C370 Logitech camera, away from the nose 60 cm covered with an X-ray film set as “USB video device”, SONY “Bravia” TV screen distance 140cm + BenQ GL2460 (YAME64), 3 powered 5.5 V diodes (power supply). It works without a hitch, hence my content - cash in my pocket:drink::woohoo:;

Opentrack with that cheap Aruco (cardboard) tracker and a Lifecam 5000 here. Unbeatably cheap (cost of webcam plus a sheet of printed paper and a piece of cardboard) and works well in BMS and other sims, but requires a workaround to prevent it from blocking mouselook in the 3D cockpit.
My only gripe is that I did not manage to compile it with the Aruco plugin on Linux yet.
-
I guess I should be more specific…field of view, responce time and smoothness are important.
So heres the issue with all of the non TIR options mentioned here: TIR beats them all in the categories I noted above.

OT.
Petros, do you still use Windows 98?;)
@Mower
I don’t own TIR, but OpenTrack with PS3 Eye camera has 640*480 @ 75FPS. I think it is enough -

Agreed. I’ve built two EDtrackers and they are just awesome for the price. I also prefer the stability they offer when flying.
