Thanks, for the replies!
No luck yet ;-(If anyone comes up with a smart idea, I’d thankfully take it……
After so many years I am back in Falcon, learning… but without a head tracker it seems so odd…
Best regards

try to roll back the windows update !!
-
So you have tried reinstalling the latest Tir drivers?
Are you running it as Administrator?
Have you tried stopping any other Apps and any anti virus apps at all? -
Hello Harald,
you’ve installed the latest TIR driver? (AFAIK TrackIR_5.4.2.exe)
edit: Migbuster was faster …
Cheers, :yo:

The problems are just beginning, reports of users with joystick unoptiness, now you report, problem with TrackIr.
This is OS Windows 10, and its updates, so I don’t install it on my PC !!!Windows 10 here and no issues don’t know what you are on about

To reply to OPs post, have you right clicked and changed compatibility to Win7 to see if that helps? Also run as admin.
-
You could also try using FacetrackNoIR and / or opentrack to see if it’s a hardware problem with the camera maybe?
Both applications should work fine with the TrackIR clip.
All the best, Uwe

Thanks malpaso Migbuster & Lazystone!
I have the latest drivers (5.4.2.), installed as admin, run as admin - no joy.
I never “rolled back” the Windows update - will try that. Another thing, that gives me a headache: I do have a AMD card with the latest AMD drivers -
In this thread (https://forums.naturalpoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=16238), they say AMD can cause trouble with Track IR as well. Anbody here with some experience with AMD graphic-cards?regards

Yes, did that as well, no joy so far
thanks anyway! -
Natural point are very lazy and barely update their software so they are the ones to blame that said, use opentrack as an alternative. Open source and regularly updated.
-
Maybe try full uninstall, then install in Windows Safe Mode.
Cheers!

there are hotkeys to move an app- window which is outside of your desktop.
Maybe it’s also your problem.@all others, please ignore this:

Thanks for all the replies, gents!
I found out, the issue was the Radeon Adrenaline Software 19.6.3 from June 27. I kicked the graphics drivers off the HDD and reinstalled the Natural Point Software 5.4.2 - et voilà: It worked well.
Now I’ am downloading the most recent drivers (Adrenaline 19.7.2 from July 16th) Maybe I am lucky - if not, I probably have to switch the graphic card - what a shame - I liked it!!
Any ideas or alternatives?best regards

Lazy, I was born 40 km south of Würzburg, lived in Bamberg for a while, so I feel somehow connected to the language and culture
Eh and BTW, the beer here is great! -
Problem solved! I am back in the saddle again!
Thanks for all your assistance.Tried the new driver - no luck again, whe I desperately threw it off the HDD as well. Then in a last effort, I installed an old Catalyst driver for XP (Ver. 8.9 from God knows when…)
It worked! I am a happy pilot now! student pilot to be honest - I have to relearn Falcon from the beginning…Best regards

Nice, then you know the area well.
Eh and BTW, the beer here is great!
Yeah, some “underfranconians” have a strange point of view about beer.
… just kidding, Harald.I’m glad to read you’ve fixed your TIR problem.
Enjoy the beer and the sim, including your working TIR.
Cheers, :yo:

Will do!

Hello, I’m happy to hear you found a workaround.
Why don’t you kick that overpriced and buggy TrackIR stuff in the rear and switch to opentrack / FaceTrackNoIR?
Greetings from the North… Ostwestfalen-Lippe about 20km NE of Bielefeld (which exists, BTW :))

Hello Hoover,
short answer: I have been away from Falcon for about 8 years. BMS4.34 came out and I wanted to give it a try once more…. And the old Track IR was still around. But thanks for the heads up with opentrack/FaceTrackNoIR.

Heard about that obviously rather old “Bielefeld-Conspiracy” only some month ago - funny anyway :-)))
