Replacing microstick double pot - latest intelligence please
-
here is another place to try for microstick.
http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/pdf/346286/CTS/252A104B50TA.html
Let me correct you just one more time with Avery very nice (should I?)attitude.
All the CTS 252 series are no more in production. -
Yes, that seems to be a good replacement. But I would design my own PCB for Xbox/Playstation joysticks or use ready PCBs like that:
https://botland.com.pl/pl/joystick/4093-thumb-joystick-z-przyciskiem-v2-modul-z-plytka-5903351241441.html?search_query=joystick&results=111 (~$1.2 for 1 item)

You know what is hard? Repairing that shitty gimbal made from ZnAl. Fortunatelly Thrustmaster still has it at stock. Just ordered it for $6 per part. -

2. I don’t know anything about gimbal, I choose FSSB R3 in the early beginning of my BMS. -

All the CTS 252 series are no more in production.Best way then is to buy a Cougar or throttle for parts. They come on ebay frequently for $300. More for your money than predatory rip off $200+ for a switch.
Here is one for $100. It has a trigger missing but all other parts are there to be scavenged.

I can offer them as free samples if you still have budget concerns. -

I can offer them as free samples if you still have budget concerns.I also have two brand new (sealed) Arduino microstick module.
Still, free samples you you want. -
Also check flight sim forums for sale sections, like the one here on BMS. They come up all the time. I have three Cougars. Two complete and others for parts. One of the complete ones is made from scavenged parts. All the ones for parts came with working microsticks and were all under $250USD.

I can offer them as free samples if you still have budget concerns.I do not have budget concerns. I just want to show there are other ways to make it. Yes, they are way cheaper than your proposal and require some DIY attitude which is additional value to me.

sunrrrise, writes properly, understands the subject !!
I suck at soldering, but I am able to solder TLE5010 or KMZ60 boards for MMJoy2.
I know this stuff !! -
Well…according to the thread title
The latest intelligence now is sunrrrise will make a new microstick mod with much lower price.
And…I am always at his six and…lock…
To compete with a Chinese …cost-wise…a very smart move. -
This post is deleted! -

I know this stuff !!Yes sunrise is trying to help the community. It is great to know it is easy to solder and you don’t need to pay rip off predator price of $250 to do it.

I don’t think we need to “discuss” or “justify” the price any more, or how easy it is to solder, or un-solder. Nothing new is being added to that particular argument, so let’s stop it before someone gets hurt (with my ban hammer).
Market forces will ultimately decide if the price Po-Fu is asking is unreasonable. If people are not prepared to pay his asking price he will have to reduce it, or sit on a load of stock.
Feel free to suggest alternatives though; it never hurts to have choice and healthy competition

Here is one DIY solution for the Xbox microstick.
Starting from 5:53 and till the next episode. This should be the cheapest solution I can find.
1. Make the mold, if you succeed, then 3D print it
2. Cut the Cougar six pin connector and solder the individual wire to the correct microstick pin.
3. Put the microstick into the 3D print mold and assemble it.
If anyone enjoys the DIY process, you can try.
I am sure this solution should be no more than $20. -

And I have to admit that I am impressed that you have spent your time for looking for alternatives and shared the findings with the rest of the community. I really appreciate this kind of attitude.
BTW. other vidoes of this guy are also interesting!

I can share more, but they really are costly.
My goal is to make a good throttle mod, mstick mod is just a side benefit. -
Little OT: have you checked how MAIN RNG/UNCAGE is built? It is the first time I see clickable pot.

Yes it is good to know we can use Xbox ministick. They only cost a few bucks. I knew I had seen it before. I had these videos in my bookmarks from two years ago and did not remember that. D’oh

I never blah blah blah…but just do it.
I made this mod back in 2015/06/04 when I just touched BMS for a few months.
You guys will see a new mod a bit later, and that might be my last post in BMS forum.
