Programming the X56
-
Hi,
I am trying to program a button on the X56 to do “SimHsiCourseInc”: ALT+;
I want it to do the following:
Short press: single ATL+;.
Long press it, I want it to initiate multiple ALT+;, ALT+;, ALT+;……This should be done using advanced command and i use the command shown in the attached image.
The short press is working fine, however the long press does not:
Testing the short press in the profile yields this:Alt;;Alt
Testing the long press yield this:
ALT; ;;;;;;;;;; ;AltHow can I program it to yield Alt; Atl; Atl;…Alt; whne i long press it ?

Janjan hi,
To achieve what you want,
1- First select “Press” part and press “ALT” key first, then the relevant key, and release the key (i.e. “;” key on your example ) then “ALT” key
2- To program the repeated keypresses just do the same on the “Repeat” part of the software
3- You really do not need to put anything on “Release” part since you will get what you want with the commands above. But if you like you can also do the same on “Release” part. It will only send one more “ALT + ;” keypress when you release the button. You can see an example I made for you in the below pic. (Disregard the key “.” in the example just put what you want there since my keyboard setting is different than yours…)
Rule of thumb for keypresses with modifiers (Shift, ALT, Ctrl etc.) within Saitek/Logitech Profiler is , 1- Press modifier/modifiers first, 2- While holding the modifier/s press the relevant key, 3- Release the key while holding the modifier, 4- Release the modifier key. 5- If there is no real need for time delays in the advanced command, quantize time for 0 seconds…
Hope that helps, best regards.

Hi,
I tried it and it does produce multiple ALT+’ when keep pressed. however, when i short ‘click’ it produces double ALT+‘/
Is there a way to program it to do:
short click: single ALT+’
long click : multiple ALT+’BTW, i cannot see your attachement.
Thanks

Hi Dan, If that’s the case for single click then you might need to quantize time a little bit. (i.e. 0,050 seconds) Play with different time delays and find “your” sweet spot. I’m adding a screenshot for example.
Hope that helps.

Yes it is working now
Thank you!Another issue you may know though…
I use both DX and programmed keys.
I also assigned the pinky key to allow for shifted DX commands. For the DX commands pinky key is working fine.
For keyboard commands it is not.e.g. if I assign, in the controller key 34 to send “X”
in BMS key binding i define X for next WP and SHIFT+X for previous WP.In the game key 34 really send X but pinky+34 also sends X and not SHIFT+X.
How can I send SHIFT+X then?
Dan

“shifted DX” is different than using the Shift key on your keyboard. I think you’re mixing them up from what I read.
In the key binding you’d have to set the callback (not the keyboard combination “shift+x”) you want to use to the “Dx shifted button 34” (DX entry) if that makes sense to you?
the keyboard entry is only interesting when using it in your joysticks software

Hi Janjan,
As Fluke pointed out, “Pinky Shift” is a mechanism to program different calbacks to the same button. AFAIK it only works if you are using DX programming way.
Apart from that, the only way to program different keyboard commands to the same button, if you are going with the Logitech profiler way is to use the Mode switches. To do this, first program “X” to a button in Mode 1, then switch to Mode 2 or Mode 3 and program Shift+X to the same button.
Best regards,

I’ve set up my Pinky switch to be ALT in the logi software.
I’ve had to hash around with default bindings in Falcon but it works for me.
Maybe that’ll help?
