New TM Warthog and Throttle…how to setuop?

I would make a TARGET script that applies to the throttle controller. Then use alternate launcher to produce a key file which makes use of that TARGET device output.

Use joystick gremlin, or the like
Or even better… VoiceAttack since he’ll probably end up using VA anyhow. (For now, (until my SA improves within BMS), I’ve programmed the throttle POV for AA padlock views with POV UP returning me to Pan (3d) view)

Alt Launcher DX programming is much easier than TARGET software and then all he needs is something else to program the POV on the throttle… I’m using VA as above.
Download Alt Launcher here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?31774-Falcon-BMS-Alternative-Launcher-(Easy-Setup-Keep-Joystick-Assignments)Pranne: Feel free to ask specific details about using the Alt Launcher here. (You definitely want to use it anyhow for all the goodies in addition to KeyMapping).
Just programmed my Warthog HOTAS setup yesterday. Was just a little confusing, but once figured out with help especially from 84hd79, it turned out to be really simple.

Praanne, I can definitely back Gray up on this, both in terms of the Alt. Launcher and VA. I invite you to set up my other thread here in the Warthog section.

I want to joint in on this. I just got a new Warthog also and got a lot of help from the guys here. I also ran into the same problem can’t program the POV on the throttle. How are using VA and the POV how dose that work? I have the MFD’S and I am using the extra buttons on my MFD’S for things like AA and AG.

BMS don’t accept POV from anything other than the primary controller. All solutions which have the coolie hat functioning do so by using software which allows output of another variety. E.g. “coolie up” causes “keyboard space bar” then you bind “keyboard space bar” in BMS. It’s a chain effect.

On the main VA page press the enable/disable joystick toggle icon on the right side. Then proceed to edit a command, and where it says “When I press button”, check it, a box pops up asking for a button… be sure to reset it by pressing the little counter clockwise button first. Voila. Do the other positions of the same POV and you’re set to go. BTW, I believe VA docs state that they support up to 4 POV switches. Oh, and make sure a key is assigned in the keypress below. VA has to have a keypress to emulate.

“JoyToKey” will make the throttle POV work nicely, though I agree VoiceAttack might be useful here, too (I’ve purchased and use both for BMS).
All the best,

K, I’m happy to help, and thanks again to Gray for turning me on to this…
In Voice Attack, from the main window, click on the square with pencil icon. Thats the Edit Command window
Then click on New Command and set it up like the right hand picture. When you click on the “when I press button”, a small window pops up. Reset via the "swirling arrow’ icon, then press the HOTAS button you want.
Save/Apply, and off you go.
Using this, BMS then recognizes the button press.
One thing I haven’t figured out is how to make the throttle pov positions act like a key that held down. It gives a momentary command, but should work with what you want to command. With my Comms set up I don’t get the "bloop " sound, but uhf and vhf do illuminate on the DED, and VA itself handles the voice commands. -
Hm maybe hitting the print Screen button to take a screenhsot might be easier to read than a picture taken from a monitor

I got a lot thigs setup now but I looking for a way to use Left Throttle button as a track IR re-center and it reads see 6.06 but when I check the Doc’s I can’t find anything on the subject. I must be missing something. My track IR is set using F12 and I want to use Left Throttle button.

Is the “re-center” function a part of BMS itself? I would think that re-centering your head tracking gear should also re-center it in BMS if it’s set up correctly.
You should be able to use “Joy2Key” (a share program that costs around 8€, but has a fully functional version available for download) or VoiceAttack (also shareware) to achieve this.
You’ll need to make sure F12 isn’t used in your current falcon BMS setup though.
All the best,
Uwe
