Desperate plea for help

On my system, the J-6/MiG-19 variants show the ab flame deep within the fuselage and a black cylinder for the actual ab flame portion of the .lod. I have tried to extend the length of the ab graphic in the .dds but no matter what I do with the alpha channel, I always end-up with an ab flame bordered in black. Could I beg someone who knows what they’re doing to create a version of the .dds file where the ab graphic extends about 4-5 times it’s current length?

I still don’t get it if you are reporting a bug or if you want to extend the AB flame for personally reasons.
Is this a problem with 4.34u2? A screenshot would be helpfull as well.Atm. I can’t test myself, but I can tell you that all MiG-19 and the Q-5
use the same AB flame.Anyway, extending the AB flame by modifying the texture is not possible.
Additionally the AB flame use a PType 22 material, which use RGB intensity.
… black is full transparent, the brighter the color, the more opaque it is,
so no alpha channel is used for it.Your only chance is to find the Scale- DOF# “38 - Afterburner” for the AB flame in LE and modify it’s values.

Not a bug, because it only appears to affect the install on my AMD system, on my son’s system, it works fine (screeny below), basically the texture does not cover the entire length of the ab portion of the .lod, so shows-up black, can’t figure-out how to alter the length of the ab graphic portion of the .dds…
As you can see from the lower pic, there is an ab flame texture, it just does not cover the entire area of the ab flame portion of the .lod…
By comparison:

So it’s a gfx driver problem with your rig, which can’t display the transparency of the AB flames correctly?
… that’s bad.As workaround paint the AB flame on the texture brighter in RGB channel,
but it will look ugly.Good luck!

No mod installed? … Have you tried a clean re-install (corrupted .dds) ?

That was kinda my original point: I’m not real PS saavy and when I try it, the alpha channel doesn’t work-out, properly… Basically, just need the existing ab texture portion of the .dds to be about 4x longer than it is. Alternately, if anyone has an ab graphic in .psd without any background that I can layer via copy over a fully black area of the .dds. The ugly occurs when I try to past a larger ab flame over the .bmp and convert to dds, the edges do not convert to true black and so creating the alpha channel results in the edges of the textured ab flame also appearing black and not properly transparent.
