A Guide to Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond
-
Hi there,
I have tried with the lastest update and the profile don’t work. TMS, DMS, CMS, etc. are “pressing” OSBs of MFDs. I don’t figure out what’s happening. I can’t edit the profile using the UI.
Is this profile compatible with the Update 2?
Best regards.

Yes I’m using it without any issue, have you loaded the correct keyfile inside BMS?

This is what I’m doing. Check if I’m doing something wrong.

Sounds like possibly 1 of 2 things.
DeviceSorting.txt file has the devices in the wrong order - located in x:\Falcon BMS 4.34\User\Config - change it to read only after it’s in the correct order.
The .key file being used in BMS Controller setup is incorrect or has been modified. Try replacing it with a fresh version from the download. File should be in same location as devicesorting.txt

It was setted the order of the “DeviceSorting.txt” and the file was marked as “read only”.
I downloaded the profile again.
In the “DeviceSorting.txt” marked as read only, the file contains only the combined “Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)” and “T-Rudder”, but in the Controllers UI, it shows the “Joystick - HOTAS Warthog” and “Throttle - HOTAS Warthog”.
“DeviceSorting.txt” marked as read only.
“DeviceSorting.txt” current order.
The Morphine’s Profile is loaded and the Controller shows the “Joystick - HOTAS Warthog” and “Throttle - HOTAS Warthog”.

Sounds kinda like the script isn’t hiding the devices when it runs.
You can run the target script and then check in windows with joy.cpl and see what devices it lists. The joystick and throttle should not show up.

deactivate the read-only option, set it up and activate it when you are done

The problem was that the devices was not hidden after run the script.
I found the solution in this thread of the reddit forum:
In the “regedit”, set “0” (zero) to all “Device Parameters” in the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB**{DEVICE}**”.
- VID_044F&PID_0402 “Joystick - HOTAS Warthog”
- VID_044F&PID_0404 “Throttle - HOTAS Warthog”
- VID_044F&PID_B679 “T-Rudder”
But I still receive messages like these in the log of the TARGET software:
USB HID device with hardware id “VID_044F&PID_0403” cannot be found
USB HID device with hardware id “VID_044F&PID_B68F” cannot be foundAfter a long sunday afternoon of research, the Morphine’s Profile is finally working here.
P.S.: I reinstalled the Falcon BMS 4.34 U2, I reinstalled the TARGET, I cleanup the register and restarted the computer.
Thanks all.

Glad you got it sorted. Those messages are normal so should be no worries.

Some day ago, I loaded the profile and I have the same problem again, but this time I unpluged and pluged the USB of the throttle, the stick and it worked again.
Maybe it’s not necessary edit the regedit’s registers that I mention before.
I use the CCleaner to clenanup the temporaries and the registers, but some registers of the TARGET are listed and if they are deleted may cause problems loading profiles, I don’t know.
Every time I cleanup the registers with CCleaner, I uncheck the TARGET related registers to avoid any problem, but for unknown reasons the profiles don’t hide the throttle and the stick after load the profile, then I unplug and plug the USB cables and they hides again.

Silent, same here. Have all the device parameter reg keys to 0. Only unplug/replug usb of throttle/joystick makes the Thrustmaster Combined the only controller in joy.cpl (other than pedals).
-
I’ve updated the firmware on joystick to v12, seems to behave better. Throttles already up to date. Just need to check using joy.cpl that only Thrustmaster Combined is showing

Hey Silent, you still having problems ? I am and wondering if it’s the profile or if the warthog driver update has it wonky.

I just checked it again in 4.34 U2. Profile works fine if thrustmaster combine shows up in the windows joystick control panel. (type joy.cpl after pushing the windows button on the desktop.). Run the target profile, then check which joysticks windows sees. The only thing windows should show is thrustmaster combine. If you see the throttle or joystick listed separately the profile won’t work.

Im having some issues with this profile. BMS is not detecting any joystick inputs, and as an aside in the game it isn’t detecting the controller as Thrustmaster Combied, but rather ““Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)””

Unfortunately the Thurstmaster root issue is the number 1 cause of problems. The second is not configuring devicesorting.txt file properly.
The root problem is usually related to registry issues. You can either edit / delete the registry entry from the joystick yourself. Or, unplug the stick and throttle, install the latest drivers then plug the stick and throttle into different USB ports. Using different USB ports is important because, the registry wont over write the bad entry for your ports and the stick still wont work.
The root bug is also caused by the teamspeak joystick plugin. Uninstall that too.

Greetings,
I first want to say “Thanks” for this thread. Because of this I got set up from a Cougar HOTAS to a Warthog HOTAS in a matter of minutes. There are a couple of things I’d like to point out that were pain points for me. Only because I was completely new to the WH.
1. "Now launch TARGET and run the TMC profile. Then run BMS. "
This ended up being too vague for me. There were some issues that I wasn’t aware of as well.
I’d recommend the following;
“Now launch Target. In the upper right menu click ‘Run Configuration’. Select the TMC profile and let it run. Watch the output and make sure you see ‘Device renamed Thrustmaster Combined’. During this process Windows may alert you that a reboot is required. If you run BMS and ‘Thrustmaster Combined’ is not available then a reboot may be required.”
2. "Now quit BMS the profile isn’t quite ready yet we still need to configure another file to insure that the profile runs properly. In order to do so we need to navigate back the BMS->User->Config folder and edit a file named Devicsorting.txt "
Recommendation; "Now quit BMS - because the profile isn’t quite ready yet - as we still need to configure another file to insure that the profile runs properly. In order to do so we need to navigate back the BMS->User->Config folder. If you have a current working config with BMS it’s recommend that you make a copy of Devicsorting.txt first. This way you should be able to convert back to your original set up if you want. Such as going back to using a Cougar HOTAS from a Warthog HOTAS. Edit the file named Devicsorting.txt with your favorite editor "
Just my two pennies.
Again, thanks for the effort.

Hi All,
Been away from Falcon for a long long time, last played “Allied Force” with a cougar setup & had no issues programming it. Now have warthog & BMS, things have certainly moved on!!
Ok, i have downloaded latest morphine profile & installed & seems ok. But trying to get my head round/remember all the programed control options is complex, does anybody have an accurate graphical layout for all the programed buttons for this current setup. Thanks in anticipation,
Joe.

Managed to find graphical layouts from earlier in this thread, but in game functions seem to be more than on layout.
E.g. “Msl Step/NWS/AG” Toggle button also activates “CNTL” button on FCR. “Speedbrake In” also activates HSD Centre when used when speedbrakes are in. Parking Brake only works when Shifted otherwise also activates Console Lights & Parking Brake when Unshifted. Radar Alt switch when toggled also toggles Instrument Lights.
Are these additional functions that are not on the stick & throttle layout, or are my warthog controls & keyfiles all to pot. Also am i assuming correctly that this Morphine layout & functions correspond with the control layout & functions as per Tech Manual page 2-18. -

A few things could be going wrong here. It could be; You’re using an outdated version of the profile or keyfile; You haven’t loaded the keyfile in game; You have not setup devicesorting.txt properly; Target isn’t working properly and is not implementing the virtual device properly. A lot of this is covered in the first post in this thread, there are pics to help too. After following the guide on the first page and you still cant get the profile to run, post a shot of the contents of devicesorting.txt and let us know what joysticks windows sees in the joystick control panel. Hit the windows button and type joy.cpl, to open the windows joystick panel.
