How to change USB ID´s
-
Hello people
Is there a way to modify the Id of the USB devices?
I´m using SVMapper to use with device and this program only “catch” the first four devices. Cougar Joy, TUSBA, and Warthog.
I want to modify the Id´s devices to use SVMapper with the fifth device. Is there any way?
Sorry for my english and thank you in advance

What exactly are you trying to achieve? If you want to generate keypresses from button / control inputs I’d recommend taking a look at joy2key which supports up to 50 input devices.
If that isn’t an option you can try changing the usb ports on your devices until you come up with a device ordering that works with your program.
Cheers, Uwe

No, Hoover , … for BMS only , it can be done with editing that devicelisting.txt in /config dir … ,
You can’t change deviceID (as that windoze does automatically,… maybe even you could, but I’m not sure what’s needed) , BUT, with editing that TXT file , you can change the ORDER in which BMS lists your devices
eg . you want the stick to be the 1st , pedals 2nd , etc… after you got it right in BMS, than backup that file … because as soon you disconnect some device , order would be lost again )I think that’s even in the manual , try to search a bit … that was included since BMS 4.32 I think
Cheers
uups… IT IS DeviceSorting.txt
…. not devicelisting. -
I´m going to try Joy2key.
The problem with SVMapper is that only recognize the first 4 devices, and my I/O card must be the fifth or more, then no way to use it.
Thank you

Aaah , I haven’t understood you correctly… I was thinking you need only for BMS…
But how would changing deviceID allow you to use more then 4 devices in svmapper ?? - you have device limitation
Hmmm, I don’t know … I don’t use any I/O pit boards (i don’t need svmapper) … joy2key is shareware , after trial it will stop so… you need crack

you are going to use all the 5 devices or only the fifth?

This is a tad silly, mate
joy2key costs only 8€ and you can use the full unlimited version without paying anything (though you shouldn’t :))
I’m not aware of any trial period expiring with joy2key, but I bought it the day it finally solved those stupid discord PTT issues when trying to use multiple devices.
I know about the deviceordering.txt file but the OP was asking how to change the physical ordering of his USB devices, and the only way I could imagine this working is trying to connect them to different USB ports (but I may be wrong here).
All the best, Uwe

not cool, bro! If anyone needs to buy this software and is too cheap to support the developer, contact me and I’ll buy it for you. I’m poor AF but I’d rather help someone out than hear about a ‘crack’ being the way to use someone’s hard work!

Good morning, guys
First of all, thanks to all
Well, trying Joy2Key I have a problem: it seems if I set Ctrl+5 and use it, Ctrl key mantains pressed when I switch off the switch, not depressed. If setting simple keys (a,b,c,1,2,3….) runs perfect
Thanks Raptor, as far as my english isn´t very “high” I´m going to go slowly to see that link
I´m going to continue testing Joy2Map and investigating this issue.
Thank you

Well, I know what´s the problem:
This program is to use with buttons
We have press and release button options; if we use switch on as press button the combo keys remains pressed until we change the switch to switch off, then all the keys are released.
I don´t know if I explain the issue well…

Switch is almost the “same” as a button , but just LOCKED to a state ON/OFF … same thing with the button ON/OFF (PRESS/RELEASE)
- only REAL difference is that switch can have more then 2 position eg. 3way - ON/MIDDLE/OFF … button can have ONLY 2 positions (if not some “special” button)
So your problem is probably somewhere else - maybe keys syntax … you have “locked-keys” or “dead-keys” problem … eg “CTRL” key never receive “Release” command (press/release) , so it stays on
eg. you have programmed (CTL + r) on button or 2way switch : OFF/RELEASE = nothing(null) ----- ON/PRESS = press CTL - press r / release r - release CTL- now your last command is not working right - [ release CTL ] – but why ??? …
… maybe software interpreter itself

No need MATE … THANK YOU
(I wuz just …teeeeassssing.)

Well, I´ve found RS Mapper in DCS forums.
There isn´t all my keyboard keys (spanish keyboard problem I suppose), but for now, works very well.
Thank you again.
