Frustratingly frequent CTD when completing missions
-
Many times when flying missions upon landing and exiting 3D, the game crashes to desktop with no points or evaluation saved, just a black screen and then desktop, but the debrief file has record of flight. So, many good flights go without any reward or progression of the campaign. I would like to submit the crash file but have been unable to locate where necessary evidence to submit might be. Are you guys looking for the Event viewer log of the crash? or is there somewhere else I need to submit from? thanks!
Just in case- here is the event viewer log:

Seems after further digging I came across this crash.dmp file

A more complete bug report would be helpful. At a minimum, if you look in your install directory under “Falcon BMS 4.34\User\Logs” you will find files that might be useful to examining your issue. In particular if you have a matched set of .dmp/.txt/.jpg files that have a dated filename that corresponds to a time when the game crashed on you like this then please zip those up, upload them somewhere (dropbox or some such, not as a post attachment I suggest) and paste a link in here so that we can have a developer grab those and take a look. JPG file is not critical but we need a dmp/txt file pair that go together to improve the chances that we cay make a dent in this for you. A mission file set or campaign save and set of instructions on how to reliably reproduce the problem would also really improve the chances that this gets addressed.

So, my layman’s attempt to fix something like that would be to try a different video driver (newest to oldest for your card) and I’d even consider trying a different video card (as a test if nothing else).

Yes, I appreciate all the time you guys have put into this. so investigating further, I jumped the gun on the dump file that I previously sent you guys (the invalid attachment). it was from a previous crash a few days ago that I hoped would be the same one, however, after having the crash occur again along with reviewing the crash logs I came to another conclusion: The program isn’t creating a dump file at all for this particular type of CTD. I feel silly filling in the format now only to leave out the most crucial part of the process- the debug file. I’m going to try downloading the newest drivers from AMD but as stated above with the “video mode” transition, i’m starting to think that somehow might have something to do with it. its a very clean crash with no errors or anything, just an entry in Windows event viewer.

If there’s no dmp file generated than the game isn’t catching the exception so I’d be looking into drivers next too, good idea.

Which theater is it?
Have you tried a different one? A different campaign?
Regarding drivers : try the 19.9.2 version.
Also, are you running borderless? Are you running any overrides in the drivers? Are you using time compression higher than x4?
You can also try the Vulkan wrapper for a different render mode given that you have an amd card, when ending a mission then you will have to ctrl+alt+del first and go back to 2d. -

I’ve found a way to circumvent that forum “bug” … When replying or creating new post and after adding a attachment , press the “Preview post” button , that way whatever attachment will stick … but obviously you can’t “fast reply” if not text only.
