Adding a Pylon and a Rack and assigning a weapon

ok- how to add a slot to a lod file in lod editor, I was able to open up the lod file, this model doesnt have a slot, I want to give it couple of slots to enable to carry some short agm’s

the uav is too small to load agm.
double click on a **.CP node, > ChPtr[+] > add slot, key in slot coordinates, done.

looks like some step is missing…after adding the slots I clicked on save model as didn’t see any done button, but when I came to the previous screen the nslots is still 0 and no slot data

also should the slot # start from 0 or 1
I added 1 and 2 but looks like when I go back to the model after saving in, the screen has 10 times more .cp that were not there previously, definately a step or two missing -
this is the slot data i see

i assume its x y and z but some how when i look at other models it seems a bit off in terms of xyz -

slot number starts from 0.
in LE you can enable [slot-lod] button to see the slots on the model, then adjust their coordinates.
for an uav with onboard targeting device, edit ac.dat to have it, don’t bother to load a pod.

ok let me give it a try, but are they indeed xyz and not xzy, there are couple of screen in LE where I see we need to add slot data.
from the main LE screen on the particular id, click on normal and the first screen opens up. I also manually added the # of slots there to 2 and added the same coordinates that i added earlier from the editor screen you mentioned.
Also if i make the settings above for TGP, which TGP gets loaded?.
Then on the hardpoint area of the file do i make the first slot as non zero?
similarly on the database FE side i will just then have two “hardpoint” rows under hard points and no row with “weapon” for the TGP? -
yeah looks like some step is missing, went through the whole thing two more times- I can see the slots in LE are in the right spot but when I rebuild the DB and see in 2D nothing is visible and the location is still wrong. Rextracted to see in Lodeditor and walla the slot info is missing again, should it not get saved in the model?. Is there a rebuild node option I need to check (took the screen shot).
So basically the question is, after adding slot data how do we save it so it doesnt go away when we rebuild the DB.

well 4th try is always a charm :), got it working atleast from adding slots perspective, now the weapons show up (there was a save lod button right in front and center on the same screen that I was missing to hit). Added pics in the same folder, now need to find shorter length AGM’s if available as obviously these are too large. Then getting back to the original task of adding pylon and racks. Still need to see how the internal tgp thingy works

Ok figured out, took some re-reading the bmsrack file to see how it works and some short tests. Now the JF-17 carries PL-12’s and PL-15’s and they are not stuck to the wing and on proper racks. Will revisit my UAV effort after this, internal TGP did work!

-In LE, you can press [Vert #] button to show slot/vertices number.

though slot nodes can be added anywhere, i prefer to add at the end of last CP node.

again, that uav is too small for agm. if you insist, there’re turkish or chinese agms for uav.

thanks I was going to ask abut cp, as I see under main CP there are several others, I just added the slots under the main CP. What difference will it make if I add under the secondary’s CP’s, as you suggest under the last one.
What are teh vert # used for if I may ask? -
There’s smg I am missing : my “SLOT-LOD” button in LE doesn’t show . So I can’t do anything .
What’s my issue ? Bad install ?
-EDIT- Still no SLOT-LOD button, but in fact it doesn’t prevent me to do smg ,it only prevent me to check easily where is the new slot . But , yes , apparently I’ve one more harpoint , although it’s absolutely not tuned yet (still not visible , and terribly misplaced.)

Great ! Although I still have to correct some issues, I managed too to activate a fully operationnaL HP . The plane now recognize and activate whatever I put in it .
