Do anyone have plans on 2001 - 2015 afghanistan war theater and the 2001 - 2011 Iraq war
That be a project i think.

well their is Kuwait. I dont think that someone with build afghanistan because of how big it is and their were no air-air battles to my knowledge. Most of the time it was CAS and its not like falcon BMS is the best option for CAS.

???
No idea why you are saying this (?) … but F4BMS and its F-16 is perfectly suitable for CAS or SCAR roles.

Agreed……small change to the .tri file and you could “Endgame” with that type scenario.
There is an Afghan theater out there, but it would take years to bring it up to “Current” 3rd party theater offerings for BMS.
Which IMHO, the latest release’s of 3rd party theaters have raised the Benchmark so to say……;)demer

IHMO Falcon is not able to simulate well such environment.

Not as good as DCS A-10 (JTAC and cities/terrain/object implementation) for sure … but BMS remains quite honorable in CAS roles, especially when using the TGP capabilities.

For years I wanted to use BMS as a modern assimetric warfare sim, hunting guys with turbans I even have a AAA armed pick up truck with a Taliban/mujahideen in the back. Is quite fun to hunt those guys at night using the TGP, shame we lack more targets and a better theatre for that. (maybe we can use Israel theatre for hunting ISIS guys on Syria??) BTW what is SCAR?

BTW what is SCAR?
SCAR (Strike Coordination and Reconnaissance)
A mission flown for the purpose of detecting targets and coordinating or performing attack or reconnaissance on those targets. Strike coordination and reconnaissance missions are flown in a specific geographic area and are an element of the command and control interface to coordinate multiple flights, detect and attack targets, neutralize enemy air defenses and provide battle damage assessment. Also called SCAR.Main differences with classic CAS roles is that the pilot is responsible of targeting choice and ID and not the JTAC/FAC(A) which is not necessarily present. SCAR mission are usually flown by specifically equipped a/c (optical devices needed for target ID such as TGP, googles … etc …)

Pretty interesting mission set. Will love to see how to do that on BMS, types of enemies, numbers, “civilians” or fiendlies, enemy threats…

Basically, it is what you are doing every time on BAI tasks in Falcon4 (“Search & Destroy”).

It’s waaaay more fun when you link it with ARMA 3!

Enjoying the read DeeJay. Thanks for sharing!

I think what Molni and others are saying is that the Falcon campaign engine isn’t the best for simulating asymmetric warfare. In my opinion, Falcon’s campaign engine works best when you craft a theater/campaign that as closely mimics the Korea campaigns as possible.
That’s not to say you can’t build something in the trigger files to do something different, but two equal land and air forces battling it out seems to be the sweet spot.
The F-16 is a fine CAS jet, but I don’t think that was what was meant above.

I have no issue dropping JSOWs on <insert insurgent=“”>- my virtual budget certainly will stretch that far!</insert>

COIN missions (at least on my behalf) are mean to use the TE editor, not the campaign game mode.

I asked a guy who plays Command Modern Air/Naval Operations if there were any scenarios on the recent Afghan conflict (counter insurgency) from 2001-2014. But he said and quite rightly, that it would be no challenge with just taliban forces on the ground using MANPADS as their only threat to your aircraft providing CAS to NATO troops or BAI, and the same would be for Falcon. But still, dont know who else has, but i’ve watched a few videos on youtube, and the tv series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, and you see the CAS arriving and dropping bombs…would still be kind of cool to do it ourselves in Falcon with all the real locations like defending the Kajaki dam which was attacked a lot, with british troops calling in a lot of CAS, and for offensive patrols to capture compounds/villages etc.
