My Mirage 2000 project

but I’m done with the panelling (hard and boring job, making sure everything fits properly and so on) and detailing of minor parts, so I’m really proud of how it looks so far
If you had asked, I would have given you the template.
Landing gear is super detailed, too, with reworked photo-realistic parts in higher resolution:
Reworked? really? Sorry mate, but to me it looks like the original which is already from real photos.
Say ‘cheers’! Yeah, the canopy still requires some attention, I know. The texmap isn’t very helpful, though:
Using scale model blueprints is not a good idea. They don’t match the real shape. The general shape of the canopy frame is made from photos.
If it ends up with a nice realistic camo scheme, please send it to integrate it into an official update.

Never mind about that, I’m actually enjoying making a template of my own. Thank you for the kind offering, though.

It isn’t. Though I used the original as a guideline (to accurately position and paste photoreal parts), the new textures are in higher resolution and other bits have been completely redone.

I haven’t. I tried to match the actual 3D shape using the texmap. But I still can’t (completely) make out the contours of the canopy frame.

10-4.
Cheers!

I have the stencilling and detailing part pretty much ready, all that’s left (for the template, anyway) is to add the dirt and wear effects (once that’s been taken care of, the skin will really ‘liven up’ when the colour/camo layers are added underneath). You will be able to switch on/off and/or modify the decals as you wish, of course; this is how I like mines
Oh and I also made new skins for AAM rails/launchers (for MICA and Super 530D air-to-air missiles, in addition to the Magic 2 launcher I posted previously), which, naturally, will be automatically available to the other Mirage variants present in Falcon (oh yes, my two-seater is a multirole aircraft )
… and, as you can see, I got the canopy frame thing sorted out.

Can’t wait to wear it. Will you be doing any Greek skins?

I don’t think so. But once the template is ready, anyone will be able to easily create his/her own skins! I’m making sure everything is neatly organised into layers for easy re-skinning.
I haven’t had enough time these last couple of days to work on the template/Mirage skin itself, but I did manage to create new textures for the external fuel tanks (for all M2000 versions, of course):
They look really nice in-game

In did …
-
Well done! I want it too
-
I think we need a new 3D model for the central tank…
-
It’s in the to do list.

It’s fantastic, great job! But, what’s the reason to develop Mirage and other models with F-16 avionics?

Hi there,
Well I can think of some reasons: Variety always good, Dog Fights, Red or Blue Side, Flying in Sorties and purely for the Love of Jets etc etc……They look awesome too…;)
I wish modelers or someone could create a full click-able cockpit pack like FF5 for all jets ie. Gear Up/Down, MFD’s, Start-Up switches, Lights etc etc
Simply just use the F-16 Avionics for the time being until when there is time in near future someone takes up a jet and works on it from ground up and when deemed ready for release we all benefit as we end up with many finished quality jets with pure realistic avionics to use in F4 Sim.
I guess one step at a time in small bites at a time like the F-18 A and C upgrade, fantastic btw!
In the near future I’m going to take up a class on modeling and skinning and help out where I can atm I got know idea, but keen to learn
My point is, to do nothing and not add more jets to Sim is boring and game play looses its edge especially in dogfights and general online game play!
How many F-16 variants do we all need???
Although for now (Please Someone) modelers could work on Cockpit cosmetics, skins and integrate that into F4 Sim like FF5 Cockpit Pack, also not forgetting that its about…
…>
< …… not spoiling the "FUN of it and Flying Jets!..;) :uham:  I will “Survive”, thats rule it like the “Titans” hahahahaha :lol:Good movie!P.S. Maybe integrate FF5 cockpit pack is that possible and work on them a little more for appearance! Also adding more hands makes light work!
Cheers,
:drink:

Yes, please, Buzzz! That would be great! Did you manage to download them so you can re-upload…? Help me do that whilst I finish uploading them to RFH, will you?
