Playing Offline?

Is there a problem flying BMS offline? I may be losing my internet and i’m trying to weed out the sims I can’t play offline.
My F4 install is from Steam. Would that be a problem for BMS to see it offline?

As I know it would not be a problem. The F4.0 is just needed to install the BMS4.34. After the install you have a free standalone product.

Good, I was hoping for that. Thanks.
I just did a new install of 4.34.4 and will run it with no mods, F-16, and Korea to get it to run as smoothly as possible.

BMS runs very well and can be a lot of fun offline. The dynamic campaign keeps things fresh and AI, though not perfect, actually does a good job when managed properly.
-
I agree. The DC is a jewel.
-
Flying with AI is definitely better when you can order them around with your voice, of course I’m biased. And if you get bored of the stock campaigns, you can change up available aircraft and fine tune the aircraft available to both sides by editing a Day 1 save file of a Campaign using Mission Commander. Might download and install that program before you lose internet, same with Weapons Delivery Planner - good stuff for getting more in-depth with your own settings, or data/info from your current mission save file.

Good thinking. Thanks.

I also enjoy setting up changing weather patterns. It changes the dynamic when you have to bring weapons that work depending on the target weather. It’s also more fun getting to fly full instrument approaches after a long mission.
-
Not as bad as a Case lll landing in DCS.

In fact I think this is the most important upgrade of the 4.34 along with the new IR modeling where missiles are not holy weapons anymore.
You have to consider the weather. So far in every sim except landing the weather was only graphics which caused major FPS drop. -

Hi, Buzz,
I can confirm BMS works fine without internet , once it’s loaded. I also agree with Semler, download a lot of campaigns, MC, WDP, and the Alternate Loader -
Hello!

It turns out I won’t be losing the internet after all. I was sure there was no hope of keeping it but never say never.
Thanks for your posts guys.
-
I suggest you fly it as much as you can
offline
to learn everything, MP is an all new ball game…John.

I’ve flown this sim since F4 but I don’t fly online anymore. DCS either.
The AI don’t give me any crap and I can fly anytime I want. The DC makes it even more enjoyable.
Thanks for the thought though. I agree with you.

I never flew F4 online, from the beggining I flew offline and am very satisfied considering it as the best military flying simulator with the only real dynamic campaign.

Your really missing most of the fun. A mission flown with a whole package filled with 20 human pilots and a human GCI is just another world compared to SP

I never flew with a human CGI. It must be very interesting. How do you do that?

We use either a combination of BMS 2d UI in combination with OnlineSquadronCollection F4Awacs Tool or lately with the new great F4Radar Tool. Other than that pilots address their picture/declare calls to the human operating as GCI. Way more immersive than using AI Awacs
