FPS SIM REN?
-
Hi everyone, this in no way a moan, but a shout for help, i am currently trying to iron out a few issues that i have, i slight stutter or jolt when close to the ground , also when vsync is enabled a still get a weird tearing type thing on the screen, now i know that its 99% my hardware or my lack of knowledge when it comes to anything cpu related.
So here is y question …how do i read the current FPS, SIM, REN details to see where a bottleneck may be . Currently with the settings i am trying my fps is 60 my refresh of screen vsync…sim is 70-80 day one first flight kto CAMPAIGN …render is 70- 110 not really sure what im looking at? -
Explanaition of one of the devs
If you are looking at GPU problems, please first check your Renderer FPS, if it’s high and you are getting low Sim and total FPS, then your CPU is the bottleneck.
Just to make sure everyone is aligned regarding the new FPS counter:
1st line - Total FPS
2nd line - Simulation FPS - In large you may think of it as your CPU FPS
3rd line - Renderer FPS - GPU FPSBecause with the new engine (which isn’t only DX11 but a TOTAL new engine that was written from the ground up using state of the art methods), the Renderer is (almost, there is always some) totally independent from the simulation, and so it runs at its own pace.

thanks for the replying, i think something is up with my MSI gtx1060gb armour and or DX11, it sometimes looks like vsync is not on when it is, i can switch on the pc and its ok to a degree, where i think to myself i can live with this setting and i say to my self dont touch any settings … i will come back a day later and boot up bms and i have not changed a thing and it will jump stutter and fart about when looking to the side, i have been chasing a sweet spot since release,
i keep going back to .34 to check to make sure i am not deluded and that is maxed out and runs silky sweet, i am so frustrated… msi afterburner and performance monitor show nothing that peeks or jumps in line with these pauses, i have an LG ultrawide 29" monitor 60hz im thinking maybe this is not up to the job. -

Tried all nvidia settings and game settings can’t fix it. All other games running perfectly on my gaming PC, and I have a lot of them. Hopefully it will be fixed in update…

Do you believe that if I move from win 7 to win 10 with my current old pc I ll see difference with fps?
with dx11 right now I think I have better performance no stuttering some tears in the screen when I am at 25 fps but that’s normal but I amnot going above 50 fps
Are windows 10 more efficient in terms of performance than win 7? If I see 10fps more I would move to win 10i am thinking of buying 500 giga Samsung evo to make the experiment

Hello, also to me with the new installation 4.35 i see some stutters
I run on 4k with asus rog strix 3080 oc and cpu 9700k @4900
i don’t thing is my specs the problemcan you please tell me how i can enable the fps counter?
thanks -

One suggestion for an FPS boost is to disable cockpit shadows.

ty for your reply
Ok seems solid at 120 fps
194 sim
rem 120so? why stutters?
where are the shadow cockpit options?ty again
tbh seems smth related to my track ir movement
how i can test it? -
where are the shadow cockpit options?
In the Launcher under Configuration -> Hardware -> Shaders, uncheck Shadow Mapping.
tbh seems smth related to my track ir movement
how i can test it?Try without TrackIR?
-
definitely it is not the track-ir the cause of the stuttering
i try to launch falcon 4.34 and test it, it is smooth like charm
i test the istant action function on both the 4.35 and 4.34 , and the 4.35 definitely has some stuttersi have a premium pc hardware, and i repeat never had fps drop or stuttering on the last version
also on the new version i still has 120 fps always, but some stutters… -
i have done further test
vsync on or off nothing change
disabling shaders cockpit nothing change
using ALT C + F (new fps counter) i have enormous number (avg 180 fps)however, moving visual around produce micro stutters, this is absolutly smth that in 4.34 never happened

Probably due to the new graphics engine in 4.35 - how the devs built that from nothing is beyond me. I can’t imagine the amount of work it took. I wish I could help now, but if there isn’t a quick solution, let’s hope the devs can address it as the graphics engine matures, they have made some amazing changes over the years.

What is your monitor’s refresh rate? If 60hz, try capping FPS at 60 in nvidia control panel and turning vsync on in the sim’s settings. That’s always provided the best experience for me for trackir.
-
I dont think its bms, as i have been watching vids on youtube and all the videos look silky smooth like my .34 …i also had exact same issue with dcs months ago. I fairly certain its my end, im just trying to find what
-
Your actual FPS is 120 and this appears to be because your renderer FPS is capped at 120. I have a RTX 2070S gpu, so less powerful than yours, and my renderer FPS is 260+. Try to find out why it’s capped so low.
-
I have done further test, and i can reach 280 fps in 4k
Stutters are there alwaysAlso tryng vsync active nothing change
I have an oled cx 55 120hz -
Try running 4.35 in windowed mode.
It should fix your stuttering
-
Nothing, i try everything
full screen
windowed
borderlessgsync active
gsync off
gsync full screen
gsync full screen and windowsNOTHING stutters a lot loocking around from the cockpit
stuttering is a problem that personally make me feel crazy

I am also seeing some stuttering or flickering … about once/sec. Not a normal dropped-frame / microstutter, but I can actually see a slight visual flash. Most evident on the clouds, at night (eg. TR#4 ILS Landing).
I’ve been using NVidia’s new FrameView tool, to record logs and diagnose, hoping to find a workaround. (It’s basically a GUI wrapper for PresentMon with a nice FPS overlay.)
So far, all I’ve learned is the flicker is not quite once a second – it’s 87 frames, like clockwork. At 100hz or 60hz … g-sync or fixed-refresh, doesn’t seem to matter… borderless-window/composited or fullscreen/independent-flip, also doesn’t seem to matter – once every 87 frames there is a tiny shock in the log data … the time between Present() calls spikes up (from ~10ms to ~20ms on my system), and either the render-queue empties or the next flip is delayed by 1 frame.
FrameView doesn’t show any frames being dropped… and even so I’m not sure why that would produce a visible flicker in the clouds at night.
I’m thinking I must be running into some kind of hardware limit… but not sure how to debug any further. My system is pretty old:
Core i7-3770
Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
Windows 10, 20H2
3440x1440p G-sync monitor -

Try in game AA to a lower value.
Try to switch Anti-aliasing Transparency from X8 to a lower values, try Multi-sample.On my side, that was the issue.
