Possible 3-monitor config?

DOH!! I’ve been messing with this for the past hour or so trying to figure it out. Thank you sir!

you`r welcome

Hi guys,
Can this be done with a Nvida Card?
thanks in advance
-
Depends on the card, I think… you have to get the new 6XX series or have two cards or buy TripleHead2Go. Aside from the newest lineup of nVidia, AMD cards are the only ones that can triple-screen with one card. So it is possible with your 2xGTX580s but as to how, I’ll let the others chime in as I have no experience with nVidia cards.

Experiences described so far suggest the answer is: yes, but frame rate is going to suck.
For whatever reason, NV drivers are well behind ATI in performance terms for this multi display head kind of scenario. I gave up and switched to ATI…much happier now.

Speaking of frames, I am getting 30-40fps on the 03 - Day Landing Final Approach TE. On a 6970 2GB card. Normal?
Graphics settings - multisampling off, vsync off, density 6, weather on, detail 7, HD Blur at recommended, HD Bloom at 20%, all advanced options ticked.

Hi Guys,
If you want to use a multiple monitor setup with different sizes you should try SoftTH.
This works great. I am using it in a six screen setup. -
Aren’t those just 6x19" screens?
-
5 screens… Will be 6 soon with the CPD. FPS in the 20 - 30 range with all on. Radeon 6990.

Wow, very nice PJ, but looks like a very narrow field of view for 3 screens wide…what is the angle?

Is there anyone out there using 3x 40" or 50" tvs, with a FOV close to 180deg? You could sit surrounded by them, would be incredible immersion!

I’m using 140 degreeds. That is a what I feel to be a decent balance. The wings in the peripherial are a bit distorted/enlarged.
But my right and left screen has only about 30 degreeds angle to the center screen. But you should consider what fits you, but I think you’ll end up with less angle than drawn.

Yep, I think that’s too much angle on the side monitors. IME, the front monitor is facing me, so I want the side monitors to face me when I turn to look at them. So unless your head is less than 38" from your front monitor, the sides will just look odd especially with your peripheral vision.
Striker, can you post a pic of your setup with an “in-cockpit” view? Thanks!

The dot is your head, 38" from, and directly in front of, all three screens!

Hi Ice, I hear what your saying, in my experance with 3x24" in BMS & Falcon Strikers setup angle is good.
Why, im glag you asked. Cause the sim displays the distortion needed for a 120deg output and then when you do the wraparound it distorts it again.
My buck 50…
Some curve is OK but not too much. even that was too much.

I use SoftTH with a 1280x1024;1920x1080;1280x1024 array. I use 4480x1080 as the rez and lose little corners. Eyefinity is great if you have three the same but it doesn’t do mixed very well.
Wrap around you have to understand that the picture is always flat. BMS just makes one viewport and tilting the monitors is like buying a painting and cutting it up to put in three frames. No matter how you do it you can’t see the back of Mona Lisa’s head!
DCS has a nice trick that has compressed panels of video or renders three different viewports and merges them. It’s interesting to see if you try it on one monitor and see the seams. BMS doesn’t have that though.

For insim looks at 140 check….

Heavy, wow, that is one big setup then! You’re gonna drown in all that view! Post a pic if you get it set up!
Striker, that is a very good video, but I want to see it how YOU see it… can you take a vid with a camera at around the distance your head is from the screens?

No, no, I don’t have it, I only WISH I did!

Do you have an image of this Fred? I think you are describing what I always thought games should do for multiscreen (unless you have trackIR) but never did (as far as I knew).

Tried to do an iPad recording, but I will need something better. Will try to record something with better camera this week.
