[REL] dedicated server for Windows with no GPU
-
Well I tried getting a dedicated server running under WINE recently but did not have much success at all.
If you wouldn’t mind posting a guide for me, it would be much appreciated.

I will, right now there’s not much to write though as my “dedi server” is still happily rendering 3d via my 1070ti
All the best,

Good afternoon everyone, we’re trying to make up a Falcon BMS 4.34 on a Windows 10 Pro 64bit machine (i3-2120 @3.30Ghz + 8GB RAM). We placed all the .DLL for using no GPU in bin/x64, installed Virtual Audio Cable and removed the .ini you were talking about previously regarding crashes and audio related issues. Like so, we managed to get inside the Campaign and have it online with other players connected but IVC disabled ('cause we have already TS server running 24/24 on the same istance). Problem: as soon as the server tries to get to the Ramp and 3D World it instantly crash. I’ll try to attach the crash log. We’re out of ideas after trying for hours. Hope that someone with more experience can help solving the problem.

maybe try this alternate DLL. Which is a bit newer. We are running it on an AWS EC2 instance and even get better performance than with the one of this thread

Hi Guys,
it seems that with the change of graphics mode from 4.35, the .dll’s no longer work. Does anyone have an idea how to set up a dedicated server that does not render the 3D image?

you could either go with
https://github.com/BibleClinger/F4DXWrapper/tree/Prelim11
or
https://github.com/UOAF/bmsdedi
but in both cases you would have to build the solution on your own as they are not official released -
This is great news - does anyone have a compiled version they would be willing to provide a link to?

Did you check the GitHub Page?

Did you check the GitHub Page?
Yes, did you?
All that’s there is the source code and I can’t get it to compile - clearly I’m missing something if others are able to do so. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Well then just download the release from GitHub. There’s no need to compile anything.

As both the post and the thread says…

Do you did not check GitHub for any release.

See - now that’s helpful. For those of us that don’t know a lot about GitHub - that’s the link we need. Not sure how I would have ever found that (still can’t see a way to get there using the original URL) but maybe that’s just a thing…always add a /releases to any GitHub URL ?? Anyway, thanks for coughing that up!
