Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
-
Dear Linknet,
Thanks for the 4th update!
The only problem I have is that the Map in the CPD does not change when I change to another theater.
I tried with Balkans and still see the Korea map in the CPD.
The file “Pathnames.ini” seems okDo I have to change it manually?
No, but you need to perform a Helios profile Reset either from the profile System Menu or from the Control Center after changing the theatre to reload the CPD maps.
If you wait after changing the theatre until you have loaded a new mission and then saved the Briefing and DTC then one Reset does everything which is the way I envisaged it to work.
Check in the folder “Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\Map”, this should contain the correct Map.jpg after a theatre change.

Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated to 4.35-5
Updated 09 April 2021:
The first post has been updated with the latest version.
I think that’s probably the final update with respect to feature updates but of course I’ll still fix any bugs that may, or hopefully may not, arise.
-
Dear Linknet,
Thanks for the last update. But my problems stills remains.
1. when changing theatres the big Map is updated, but I do not always see the steerpoints
2. In the CPD when changing theatres the map is NOT updating, and also steerpoints are not always showing.
3. when I do a Helios reset from system - reset the CPD is always blanked and says NO DATAI tried with a training mission and with a campaign mission.
-Could it be related to the fact that Helios installed the files in Onedrive ??
(C:\Users\marcb\OneDrive\Documents\Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35)
-Do you save the DTC in Falcon BMS or only in WPD?
-In what order do you open “Falcon BMS”, “WPD” and “Helios”?
-Do you open Falcon BMS from your Helios “system” knob?
-Do you have “4. Debriefing Output to File” checked or not in your config file?Thank You in advance!

Thank You in advance! If the Front Console main map is updating and you sometimes see steerpoints then the fact that you have moved the Documents folder to OneDrive shouldn’t be the problem.
The CPD maps and steerpoints will not update until you perform a Helios Reset. After a Reset the CPD will always be blank and show NO DATA until you actually move the aircraft in BMS, even a few feet along the runway will do it.
Try following this exactly step by step for the Korea Theatre and report the results:
1. Start The Helios profile.
2. Start Falcon BMS.
3. Select training mission TR_BMS_16_Spice.
4. Select Commit.
5. Save the DTC.
6. Save the Briefing.
7. Reset Helios.
8. Select Take Off.
9. Once airborne check the following:a) Check Front Console Main Map for steerpoints.
b) Check the CPD for steerpoints. -
This worked fine for Korea.
I did not realize that you have to save the DTC every time, and to do the Helios reset before flying.
And In also read that no steerpoints were saved by the DTC in Falcon BMS, perhaps this changed in 4.35.But after having switched to Balkans I see the correct big Map and Steerpoints, but the little Map from the CPD does not change to the Balkan one and so no steerpoints are visible. (is still the Korean one)
Do You have a suggestion?

If what you are doing is changing the theatre then immediately opening the CPD to check the map then it WON’T work. You will just see the previous map.
The CPD maps only update after a Helios Reset.
After changing the theatre you need to do this:
1. Start The Helios profile if not already running.
2. Start Falcon BMS.
3. Select a mission with steerpoints.
4. Select Commit.
5. Save the DTC.
6. Save the Briefing.
7. Reset Helios.
8. Select Take Off.
9. Once airborne NOW check the CPD.If that still doesn’t work then check in this folder: \Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\Map\
Map.jpg - This should be the correct theatre map.
MapOverLay_15.png - This should contain the current mission steerpoints.
MapOverLay_30.png - This should contain the current mission steerpoints.
MapOverLay_60.png - This should contain the current mission steerpoints. -
Dear Linknet,
This morning I did uninstalled and reinstalled Helios and the Ices 4.35.5 profile; which probably was not necessary.
I can also confirm that the problems are NOT related to OneDrive (as I removed the syncing to OneDrive which did not help.)Now (by following your instructions) everything seems fine:
- The Big MAP and the steerpoints are always working.
- But the small CPD map is not always updated, the steerpoints are always showing!
What I suspect is that changing theatres from Korea to another is OK; but to switch from “Israel” to “Balkans” will not be updated.
Since I switch from “Korea” to “Israel”, and back to “Korea” and then to “Balkans” the small map is always correct. (So always returning to Korea)Would that make sense ?
If I discover something new I will let you know. -

Would that make sense ?There is no difference whatsoever changing between different maps, the order is irrelevant. If you want me to help then you need to do as I requested and check the Map folder exactly as detailed in my previous post. Otherwise I can’t help any further.
After changing each theatre you need to do this:
1. Start The Helios profile if not already running.
2. Start Falcon BMS.
3. Select a mission with steerpoints.
4. Select Commit.
5. Save the DTC.
6. Save the Briefing.
7. Reset Helios.

9. Once airborne NOW check the CPD - Is this the correct theatre map?
10. Now check in this folder: \Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\Map\Map.jpg - Is this the correct theatre map?Now repeat that for each theatre change and let me have the results.
-
Followed exactly the steps you previously wrote.
I change from theaters via Falcon BMS.
1. from Korea to Balkans –> OK
2. from Balkans to Israel --> not OK (\Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\Map\Map.jpg is not correct) Map is still the one from Balkans
3. from Balkans to Korea and then again to Israel --> OKI know this is strange, but I can repeat it it and have the same result.
Do you also change theaters via BMS or Alternative launcher ?
Is it DataAutoUpdate.exe that overwrites the \Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\Map\Map.jpg ?I will install another theater and do some more test later this week.

Is it DataAutoUpdate.exe that overwrites the \Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\Map\Map.jpg ?Ah, now we’re getting somewhere.
With the Helios profile running can you now please make the change from Balkans to Israel (using the same method you used before) and after changing to Israel:
1. Send me a copy of PathNames.ini
2. Then using Regedit navigate to this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.35 and copy the “curTheater” value exactly and let me have that also. You don’t need to install any more theatres.
I always change theatres via BMS and yes, it is DataAutoUpdate.exe that does all the file copying etc.If you could let me have the above information based on the previous version of DataAutoUpdate.exe you could then try the latest version of DataAutoUpdate.exe

Dear Linknet,
Your last DataAutoUpdate.exe solved my problems!
If you want me to test something else, please let me know.Thank You again !
-
Your last DataAutoUpdate.exe solved my problems!
That’s good. I believe the problem was caused by Dropbox changing the timestamp on some of the map files and even though you stopped using Dropbox the changes still existed. The new version doesn’t rely on the timestamps and so you should be able to move your Documents folder back to Dropbox with no problems.
I’ve updated the first post 4.35-5 download to include the new DataAutoUpdate.exe but unless you’re having problems then there’s really no need to update.

Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated to 4.35-7
Updated 23 April 2021:
The first post has been updated with the latest version.
This replaces version 4.35-6 which had an issue with disposal of memory resources. So unfortunately, if you downloaded 4.35-6, I recommend replacing it with this version.

Hi,
Thanks for the great profile!
Can I ask about BMS 4.35 u1 of ice profile?
I am a BMS beginner.
I have also used Helios a little at DCS.I installed the ice profile according to the manual.
(I may be worried about installing key files.)The display of MFDs, HUD, HMS, RWR, DED, PFL, etc. is working.
I think the export was successful.but I cannot operate the touch panel.
I am using a borderless window.
5760 * 1080 (nvidia Surround) + 4th monitor (helios)When I operate the touch panel, the cursor moves in the cockpit.
Which place should I fix? -
did you pass this line to “zero”?
This line allows the mouse to move from one screen to another.set g_bEnableExclusiveMouseCapture 0 // Captures the mouse when in 3D so that you don’t click something on the desktop when running windowed mode
-
Thank you for replying to me.
“set g_bEnableExclusiveMouseCapture 0”
I tried.
The cursor worked outside the cockpit.
The touch operation worked, but it seems that the signal has not reached the Falcon BMS.
There is no reaction.
What should i do?
Key file? -
yes most certainly the key file which does not correspond between Helios and BMS.
-
Thanks for your advice.
I tried various things, but it didn’t work.
There were no errors in the key file settings.
The keyboard setting has also been changed to US.
I’m giving up.
It is strange that all key touches do not respond either.
Something is wrong.
I will challenge a little more.
