Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I get an explossion everytime I try to land a Phantom into the boat. Could you check it?

The f4 phantoms don’t have carrier capabilities (for player) yet in this db.
It explodes because it has no afm.
Zeroing out the wheel radius in fm so wheels no longer spin will fix the explosions, or adding an afm will fix it.
But real AFM is what is needed for launch bar takeoff and good landing.A6e, A4s,F35c, f14s, and F18s are the jets that are fully carrier capable atm.
DB is under construction still.
Every time I try to add afm to f4, I get wheels sinking into deck to point of exploding when launch bar is activated.
Maybe in next db, we put stationary wheels and non launch bar launch capabilities to f4 (if afm is not available by then) -

Okay here is a workaround for f4 until next db.
I guess I can make a zip for acdat too.
It’s not preferable method, but it works.If you unzip and add these to add-on Vietnam/sim/acdat and overwrite, the f4s will function like in video.

any way you could do this to the A-4 Skyhawk the A-6 intruder?

The Skyhawks and A6E currently operate with the (invisible) launch bar.
And they can launch and land just like f18 procedure.But yeh, you could set Skyhawks and intruders like this.
Delete afm, zero out the wheel radius three lines, and add the catapult lines above “hook” in fm.But in theater , we opted to keep the launch bar versions.

At least in the Phantom the hook is working in a funny way. If after “colliding” with the deck you add power, the hook never works. Just set idle and you will be stopped. I discovered it after quite a lot of bolters adding power on the deck…

our team is excited to announce Vietnam Version 4.35.1.2. Version 1.2 is a whole new installer and not compatible with any previous version. Big thanks to CCC, Smartaxe and Jackal for their work on Vietnam. All carrier aircraft now operate as well as the F/A-18. New vintage aircraft added so that US Aircraft composition in campaigns now match actual timeframes as depicted in campaigns. New TEs by Jackal to enhance your experience and give you a chance to feel historical missions in the same manner USAF and ARVN pilots did in the real world historical conflict.

Thanks a lot as well to our team and the awesome results - The Gang RULE.To all of you, Gentlemen: I tried to make the pilots flying those four historical replica missions the feelings of the military escalation during the whole Vietnam War ages, since the first one (“Operation Barrel Roll, 1964”), which was a cover operation.
Please all note that, for realism sake, fuel management skills are required in all of them, and at this condition they are flyable.I (together with our team) sincerely hope that you all will have fun not only with them, but with the whole theater, more than simply fit to all purposes, tactical training too, and really challenging for its landscape variety.
My apologies in advance for those errors I in case made, but in good faith.What more?

Just installed the .2 version and I must be doing something stupid in the F4. Land based Taxi is fine, TO roll is fine, but when I rotate at ~200kts and gear up the plane gets damaged, loses power and shuts down…? Maybe dragging the drop tanks on TO?
EDIT: Just had a thought so popped back into same campaign mission but removed the 2 370 gal drop tanks and took off without issue so maybe they were hitting when I rotated on TO? After a bit I figured I would watch the rotation from a side external view with the tanks on and it took off just fine, seems like it fixed itself somehow and I feel like the kid who cried wolf…

On another note, WDP and Helios have no Vietnam map selection, am I missing something? They both default to Korea…
