Quality graphics set only to 0!!!
-
Hi there:
Writing about my graphics setup in BMS 4.35_U2. It can only be set to ZERO without giving me any other option since I moved to 4.35… Is it possible to increase it somehow???
(My desktop’s specs should be enough for running BMS at maximum detail)
Thanks in advance

And those specs are?

I think “Quality” is just zero for everybody. Not something fully implemented… (yet)?
Well actually I dunno, I also have a 1660 Ti. Maybe we’re missing out on something?
Does this dropdown have any nonzero values, for anyone?

Looking into BMS manual gives an explanation
Antialiasing
You can select the Samples and Quality setting here. BMS
simply enumerates the quality settings offered by the driver.
BMS MULTISAMPLING is not an absolute setting which is the
same on all machines; it is always driver dependent, so test
yourself to see the trade-off between quality and frame rate.
For more modern graphics cards you may be better off switching it off in BMS and overriding AntiAliasing in AMD Catalyst Control Centre or NVIDIA Control Panel. Anti-aliasing may significantly affect
your frame rate, so it is a good idea to experiment with the settings to find what works for you. Lower
settings are usually better if you are finding your frame rate is lower than you want, especially at higher

It’s 0 here as well without option to change. Also we are calling what the HW gives us back, maybe this will help:

I’ve been trying with NVIDIA’s control panel with no success… but looks like the problem comes from there
Thanks for the help!

AMD graphics lets you crank up AF level from 1 to 16 in UI . . . Nvidia graphics = 0 . Use forced AF in Nvidia drivers

Well.
All those above duly considered, as a (happy) nVidia GTX 2080Ti owner, I’m going to remember a ‘in deep’ discussion made by airtex and his notes… so, long story made short, thanks to airtex I got to conclude that I could leave substantially untouched all the BMS settings to manage and get more refined settings within nVidia control panel.
That I made and just that I’m happy with still today.Just my thought, I (far than an expert) can be more than simply wrong here.
With best regards to all.
With best regards.

to change quality from 0 you have to change sample any value but 1. I think it is exponential. for 1 it has corresponding value of quality only 0. you will get other quality options if you change sample other than 1. atleast for me…
anyways. I prefer overriding all game settings and use AMD interface -

I think anisotripic-filtering is a different thing … controlled by g_nAnisotropicValue config setting in ‘falcon bms.cfg’. But yes, set it to 16 (if desired) in NVidia control panel.
I think “Quality” is this: https://www.ozone3d.net/public/jegx/201109/amd_eqaa_modes_radeon_hd_6900.jpg
(for AMD cards)
